Did you like the movies?
Actually took me around 15years to accept it, as a Tolkein fan many many years before this film came out, "I hated these movies". I realise you cannot fit all the "essence" of this epic story into a movie, but so much was left out. The movies for those who never read the books, is spectacular, without a doubt. Even I like the well designed trilogy, but deep down the subtle (and most likely boring to many) little things that enhanced the magic, understandably were left out.
But this will always be true for many movies adapted from a book.
