TCY Launch Strategy | Don't Rush! Official Guide

TCY is launching on May 5th, 2025. In case you missed it, TCY is a new token being introduced by Thorchain. It is being claim-dropped to any affected ThorFi users (users who had their BTC and ETH frozen due to the insolvency of Thorchain's previous Lending protocol).

This is all a result of prop6 - a proposal to save Thorchain from defaulting on loans that were spiraling out of control as market volatility created a sort of "bank run" on the protocol.

Throughout all of this, Thorchain has remained strong. The volume of Thorchain's swapping protocol - it's core product - has never waivered.

TCY gets a 10% claim on revenue from the protocol in perpetuity. This will give TCY a baseline value. Add in some buyback mechanisms and TCY becomes a great way to payback ThorFi holders without disrupting RUNE or the protocol's base functionalities.
