Relax, Unwind, and Recharge at Riverside Camp Cafe

I first discovered this place through a Facebook vlogger who featured it during one of their visits. I was immediately drawn to its beautiful ambiance, and the charming lights made the place even more captivating. So come along as my mother and I visit and explore this relaxing destination.

The café opens at around 5:00 PM. We actually wanted to visit in the evening because this place also offers camping, and the atmosphere becomes even more beautiful once the lights are turned on. However, public transportation can be quite difficult to find at night, and since we do not have our own vehicle, my mother and I decided to visit a little earlier instead.

Riverside Camp Cafe is located in Hilongos, Leyte, just a short distance from the town’s largest bridge. If you are coming from the heart of Hilongos, getting there is easy and convenient, as you can take a Racal motorcycle, multicab, bus, or tricycle to reach the café.

The café is very easy to find since it is located right along the highway and is clearly visible from the road. When we arrived, we had no trouble locating it because it could easily be seen from the roadside.

The path leading down to the café is a bit steep, so I reminded my mother to be careful, especially since her knees are not as strong as they used to be.

The place truly has a nature-inspired vibe. The atmosphere is cool and refreshing because it is surrounded by plenty of trees. What I really liked is that they have preserved the natural beauty of the area instead of heavily developing it. Unlike some places where the surroundings are covered with concrete, Riverside Camp Cafe has maintained its natural setting, allowing visitors to enjoy the greenery, wild plants, and trees all around. It gives the place a peaceful and authentic connection with nature.

When we arrived, there were no other customers around except us. Our original plan was to order something for dinner since neither of us drinks coffee. However, we were a little disappointed to learn that they do not serve full meals. The only items available were coffee, milk tea, and muffins.

With no other food options to choose from, we decided to order muffins instead. Although it was not what we had initially planned, we still wanted to try something from their menu during our visit.

After placing our order, we decided to explore their A-frame cottage. We first went up to the upper level, which offered a nice and cozy space. It is actually a perfect spot for groups of friends who want to enjoy coffee, relax, chat, or simply unwind.

While the place was already pleasant during our visit, I can imagine it being even more beautiful at night. The decorative lights would surely enhance the atmosphere, making the experience more relaxing and enjoyable.

After checking out the upper level, we went back downstairs. My mother preferred that we stay on the lower level since it was more comfortable for her. Sitting upstairs required sitting closer to the floor, which can be a bit difficult for her, while the lower area had proper chairs that were easier and more convenient to use.

The outdoor area also looked like a nice place to sit and relax, but it was drizzling at the time, so we decided to stay indoors instead.

Overall, I really liked the place. If your purpose is simply to relax, catch up with family or friends, and enjoy meaningful conversations, it is definitely a great spot. The peaceful surroundings and lack of distractions make it easy to focus on your conversations and enjoy the moment.

Although we were a little disappointed with the food selection because we expected more options than just muffins, the place itself was beautiful and relaxing. Despite that, I would still recommend Riverside Camp Cafe to anyone looking for a quiet and refreshing place to unwind and enjoy nature.
