Our Venture into a Rental Business

Happy Thursday Hivers!

We have been planning for a long time to start a rental business, specifically for paddleboards, kayaks, banana boats, and similar activities, since we live very close to the sea. However, until now, we still haven’t been able to start because our mother is usually the only one at home, while we are often in Cebu. It would be difficult for her to manage everything alone, especially since the water sports equipment is quite heavy.

Last week, my brother ordered an inflatable paddleboard, which was delivered two days ago. He ordered it mainly so he would have something to use while he is staying here, in case he wants to swim in the sea. However, while he was trying it out, he brought up the idea of renting it out since he is still in Leyte.

That’s when we remembered our plan from a few years back about starting a rental business. So my mother and I immediately agreed to the idea while my brother and I were still in Leyte.

After our discussion, my brother and I agreed to create an advertisement and post it on Facebook. So far, no one has rented it yet, even though we have already posted it. This may be because it is still a working day and people are busy. It has also only been two days since we posted the advertisement.

We decided to observe how this goes for now. If many people start renting, my younger sibling plans to add more units by purchasing another paddleboard and a kayak. For now, we will just monitor the situation and avoid rushing into it, especially since the equipment is quite pricey. Hopefully, this business will go well.
