Our First Calamansi Harvest: Fresh from the Garden

Happy Sunday Hivers!

Calamansi is one of the essential ingredients we always have in our kitchen because we love dipping sauces mixed with fresh calamansi juice. It simply tastes so much better than using vinegar alone, adding a refreshing citrus flavor that makes every meal more enjoyable. That's why we decided to plant our own calamansi trees in our garden, so we can always have a fresh supply whenever we need it.

Now that our calamansi trees are bearing fruit, we no longer need to go to the market to buy calamansi. Whenever we need some, we simply head to our garden and pick them fresh from the tree. It's much better because they're incredibly fresh.

A few days ago, we cooked Bam-i, and for us, it just isn't complete without fresh calamansi. Since we already have calamansi growing in our garden, I simply went to the garden and picked some. I only harvested four pieces because we didn't cook a large batch of Bam-i.

We prefer picking calamansi only when we're about to use it because it's much fresher that way. Freshly picked calamansi has a more vibrant aroma and flavor, making our meal even more delicious.

Having our own calamansi tree in the garden is truly a blessing. It not only saves us money and trips to the market, but it also allows us to enjoy fresh calamansi whenever we need it. Growing our own food, even something as simple as calamansi, makes our meals more enjoyable and reminds us of the many benefits of having a home garden.

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.
