Nice Weather Returns After Super Typhoon Bavi Entered Our Country

Happy Wednesday Hivers!

Last week, the weather across almost the entire country was far from pleasant after Super Typhoon Bavi entered our country. Although it did not make landfall, its immense strength still affected many parts of the Philippines, bringing severe flooding and powerful winds to several areas. Thankfully, in our place, we only experienced heavy rain and strong waves, but there was no flooding.

Since the bad weather lasted for almost the entire week, I spent most of my time staying indoors. There were no walks along the beach, no relaxing outside the house, and no peaceful moments lying in the hammock. When you've grown so used to spending your afternoons that way, you can't help but miss that simple routine.

While my brother was busy singing karaoke, the very person I usually have to compete with for the hammock, I finally had the chance to sit back and relax in it while watching the sunset. It was such a peaceful and refreshing moment. I also enjoyed staying there because I really liked the songs he was singing. They were exactly the kind of music I enjoy, so I got to appreciate both the sunset and the relaxing music at the same time.

Yesterday, the tide was very low, and whenever that happens, many people head to the foreshore to gather shellfish. My mom was one of them. I didn't join her because I preferred sitting in the hammock, relaxing while enjoying the beauty of nature.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw our neighbor. She had planned to gather shellfish too, but since she brought her two kids along, they ended up swimming in the sea instead. Rather than collecting shellfish, she spent her time watching over them as they happily played in the water.

Seeing those two children brought back so many childhood memories. When my siblings and I were little, every time our mom took us to the beach, we couldn't resist jumping straight into the water. No matter what she was doing, we'd always end up swimming and having fun. Watching those kids reminded me so much of those carefree days.

Moments like these make me appreciate my life even more. I feel truly blessed to wake up surrounded by beautiful scenery. There's something special about living in the province, waking up to the sound of roosters crowing, birds singing, and the gentle waves rolling onto the shore.

After almost a week of gloomy weather brought by Super Typhoon Bavi, it feels wonderful to finally enjoy the sunshine again. Sometimes, it takes days of rain and stormy skies to remind us just how precious these simple, peaceful moments really are. The return of the nice weather made me appreciate the beauty of nature even more, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the day.
