Chasing the Sunset by the Shore
Happy Thursday Hivers!
I’ve always mentioned here that our home in Leyte is just a few steps from the beach. The moment you step outside the house, you can instantly see the ocean. When I was a child, it felt like we had our own swimming pool because we could go for a swim anytime we wanted. We never needed money for fare just to enjoy the sea, because the beach was literally right in front of our home.

You can witness both beautiful sunrises and sunsets, especially if you’re willing to wake up early to catch the sunrise rising from behind the mountains, and later the sunset glowing over the sea. As much as I love watching the sunrise, I enjoy sunsets even more. There’s something magical about the moment when the sun slowly dips toward the horizon and the sky shifts into shades of orange, it’s a view I never get tired of watching

From June until maybe January, the Philippines is still in the wet season, so we rarely get to experience weather like this. That’s why whenever the weather turns out this nice, take the opportunity to go outside and enjoy the surroundings.
That’s why if you plan to visit, it’s better to come during the dry season, around March to May, because it rarely rains and you can explore the country properly. Rain can be a hassle since you get wet, and there’s a higher chance of getting sick.

Yesterday, we were really blessed with beautiful weather, from morning all the way until the sun dipped below the horizon. So around 4 PM, I went outside our house and, as always, I was amazed by the view. The sun looked stunning as it was about to set, and the sea was calm. I didn’t even think twice, I grabbed my book and my shawl and headed to the beach to relax, while my mother enjoyed the moment with her dog.

Who wouldn’t want to step outside the house with a view like this, right?
So I really enjoyed the moment because we don’t get to experience this very often, unlike during the dry season.

You know that island? That’s what really adds to the beauty of the view. It’s called Himokilan, and there are people actually live there. It’s beautiful because of its white sand beaches. We’re really thankful for Himokilan Island because it makes our view even more stunning. A beautiful sunset paired with the island’s lovely figure, it makes the view perfect for us to fully enjoy this gift from nature.

When I was a child, I didn’t really appreciate sunsets because in my mind, evening meant it was getting dark and a little scary. But now that I’ve grown older, I can truly appreciate them—the beauty of the sunset, the colors, and the peaceful feeling it brings. A sunset reminds me that every day has its ending, but that ending can be beautiful. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and let go of the worries of the day. Just like the sun sets and promises to rise again, every ending holds the hope of a new beginning.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.
When I was young, I loved walking by the seashore during sunset. However, when I had drowning experience, I started to hate looking at the beach. 😌
Oh I'm sorry for your traumatic experience. I hope you will overcome that trauma,
I can't avoid thinking about my traumatic experience every time something reminds me of it. 😌
