REVIEW: Beyond the voice of Susana Tamaro in ‘escucha mi voz’ [ENG// ESP]

I am one of those who believe that a book is to show us the world, through a journey, a fantasy world or simply a good reflection. When I was at university I always tried to find books that left me with a good message that made me learn about myself and I got that with a book I bought while I was studying Social Communication and today I want to share it with you.

One of my favourite places in college was a bookstore and I always found treasures for very little money and for me this book by Susan Tamaro is one of them. ‘Listen to my voice’ is the sequel to the novel “Where the heart takes you”, I didn't have the opportunity to read this previous book and I always regretted that. However, I was able to enjoy this sequel which told the story of Marta, the granddaughter of the elderly Olga, who returns to her grandmother's house in Trieste after having been living in the United States.

Marta is at a point in her life when she feels lost and disoriented. Her relationship with her grandmother is strained and difficult, but despite this, Marta begins to explore her family's past through the memories and letters she finds in the attic of the house.

As Marta discovers her family's secrets, she realises that her own life is full of questions and emotional wounds that need to be healed. The search for her identity and her place in the world becomes the central theme of the story.

‘Listen to my voice’ is an emotional and profound novel that invites us to reflect on the importance of knowing our roots and listening to our own inner voice in order to find the path to happiness and fulfilment.

This book will undoubtedly help you to reflect on your life in aspects such as: The search for identity, the importance of family roots, intergenerational relationships, forgiveness and emotional healing, love and loss. I also really enjoyed the story, because the language is simple, but the writer manages to connect with the reader and that is wonderful, I also enjoyed that, I took personal growth forever.

Soy de las que cree que un libro es para mostrarnos el mundo, a través de un viaje, un mundo de fantasía o simplemente una buena reflexión. Cuando estaba en la universidad siempre procuré toparme con libros que me dejaran un buen mensaje que me hiciera aprender sobre mí misma y pues eso lo conseguí con un libro que compré mientras estaba en mi carrera de Comunicación Social y hoy quiero compartírselos.

Uno de mis lugares favoritos en la universidad era una librería y siempre encontraba tesoros por muy poco dinero y para mí este libro de Susan Tamaro es uno de ellos. "Escucha mi voz" es la continuación de la novela "Donde el corazón te lleve", yo no tuve la oportunidad de leer este libro anterior y siempre me arrepentí de eso. Sin embargo, pude disfrutar de esta continuación que hablaba de la historia de Marta, la nieta de la anciana Olga, quien regresa a la casa de su abuela en Trieste después de haber estado viviendo en Estados Unidos.

Marta se encuentra en un momento de su vida en el que se siente perdida y desorientada. La relación con su abuela es tensa y difícil, pero a pesar de ello, Marta comienza a explorar el pasado de su familia a través de los recuerdos y las cartas que encuentra en el desván de la casa.

A medida que Marta descubre los secretos de su familia, se va dando cuenta de que su propia vida está llena de interrogantes y de heridas emocionales que necesita sanar. La búsqueda de su identidad y de su lugar en el mundo se convierte en el eje central de la historia.

"Escucha mi voz" es una novela emotiva y profunda que invita a la reflexión sobre la importancia de conocer nuestras raíces y de escuchar nuestra propia voz interior para encontrar el camino hacia la felicidad y la plenitud.

Este libro sin duda te va a ayudar a reflexionar sobre tu vida en aspectos como: La búsqueda de la identidad, la importancia de las raíces familiares, las relaciones intergeneracionales, el perdón y la sanación emocional, el amor y la pérdida. Yo además que me disfruté muchísimo la historia, porque el lenguaje es simple, pero la escritora logra conexión con el lector y eso es maravilloso, yo además de disfrutar eso, me llevé el crecimiento personal para siempre.
