Ripple Signs Two More Payment System Customers in UAE Expansion

Ripple has signed two new payment system customers, Zand Bank and Mamo, as part of its expansion in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This development follows Ripple's acquisition of a license from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) in March 2025, which allows Ripple to manage global payments end-to-end for banks, fintechs, and crypto firms in the region.

Zand Bank, the UAE’s first fully digital bank, plans to leverage Ripple’s platform to enhance digital finance services and is preparing to launch an AED-backed stablecoin.

Mamo, a fintech focused on consumer payments, will use Ripple Payments to offer faster and more reliable cross-border payment solutions for businesses and consumers scaling their UAE operations.

Ripple Payments uses blockchain technology and a global network of payout partners to enable fast, transparent, and cost-effective cross-border transactions, settling payments within minutes and operating 24/7. The platform is active in over 90 markets and has processed more than $70 billion globally, sometimes using XRP as a bridge currency through its On-Demand Liquidity service.

This expansion in the UAE marks a significant milestone for Ripple in the Middle East, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a growing hub for digital finance and blockchain-powered payment solutions.

Ripple’s DFSA license and new partnerships demonstrate strong momentum for blockchain alternatives to traditional cross-border payment systems in the region.
