KuCoin launches fully licensed crypto exchange in Thailand

KuCoin has officially launched KuCoin Thailand, a fully licensed and regulated cryptocurrency exchange operating under the supervision of Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This marks the first locally regulated platform under the KuCoin brand in Thailand.

The launch follows KuCoin’s acquisition and rebranding of ERX Company Limited, which was Thailand’s first SEC-supervised crypto exchange. The transition to KuCoin Thailand took effect on April 22, 2025, with all existing ERX users migrated to the new platform.

KuCoin Thailand offers crypto-to-crypto trading as well as fiat integration, including Thai Baht on-ramp and off-ramp services, making it easier for Thai users to deposit and withdraw funds in their local currency.

KuCoin Thailand leverages KuCoin’s global technology adapted for the local market, emphasizing robust security and a user-friendly experience. The platform holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications, demonstrating a strong commitment to security and regulatory compliance.

Thailand’s crypto market is one of the most active in Southeast Asia, with KuCoin joining a competitive field of eight other SEC-licensed exchanges such as Bitkub, Upbit, and Gulf Binance. KuCoin aims to capitalize on Thailand’s progressive regulatory environment and plans to expand its regulated presence further, including seeking licenses in Europe.

Trading on KuCoin Thailand officially began on June 17, 2025, and the platform is now open to all eligible users in the country after an initial invite-only phase.
