Your poem @maryann reminds me of poverty, war, and destruction in a desolate land where humans fight for survival. When you say that "being alive is a never-ending battle." I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. No matter what part of the Earth one inhabits, the economic or health status, the fight to survive in this current times is prevalent. Although the fight may be different, the uncertainty of a distinct group of people sometimes depends on survival of the fittest. Is the way society was meant to live?
I wonder many times as the aggression becomes more deadly. What will our end times show? That humans was capable of the ultimate destruction?
Your poem is deep in its subject matter. A thoughtful piece of prose. Thanks for sharing.
