Splinterlands: The Wild Pass Experiment

It is the end of another splinterlands season, and I have to say that this is the first time I have had fewer rewards that influenced my decision to buy or not buy a legendary draw. Legendary draws are high-end purchases, and their availability reflects a player's performance during the season.
However, the new changes make it even more difficult to earn glint rewards, even though SPS rewards have increased significantly.
GLINTS are Underrated
One might think that no one would notice the reduction in Glint rewards because the focus is primarily on earning good SPS rewards, but this is not the case. So, to actually win, you need good cards in the game, and even though the soulbound cards have not yet been unlocked, they have provided a very good source of deck and card quality to anyone who wishes to compete.
So the Glints rewards were not simply reduced; rather, the SPS requirements were raised, implying that if you did not purchase more SPS after the most recent changes, your Glint rewards would eventually decline. This doesn't apply to modern, as everything seems to be working nicely over there.
It is been a breath of fresh air to play in the Wild format; I can not say that bot farming has stopped entirely, but I believe it is a work in progress. It is still unfortunate that people must pay to compete in the wild format, but that is the new reality. I believe that the slight increase in SPS rewards means that you can save enough money to pay for the wild pass without having to pay it out of pocket.
Normally, raising the requirements to ban bots is a good thing, and you should not have to pay to enjoy it, but this is the current reality of splinterlands. My wild pass experiment went well. Previously, I earned about 7 SPS on a good day, but now I average between 8.5 and 12 SPS per day, which means I can cumulatively pay for a wild pass with the bonus reward for 14 days of saving some SPS.
Although this means we are back to earning nearly the same SPS as before the changes were implemented, the real winner is the splinterlands asset market. This means that the market will no longer see bot dumps, and the price of SPS may become more stable. I suppose this is a win for everyone. However, the ultimate winners are the guys in the modern format who get to keep their rewards while eliminating SPS dumpers, which is why the proposal passed so quickly.
The beginning of the season is the worst.
You get to play summoners and cards of the highest level, and all you can do is watch them helplessly tear you apart. This is where you will wish you had not bought that wild pass because you will be losing so many games. This season and the previous season are the same; I lost a lot of games from the first to the fifth day of the season, and then gradually started winning from the middle to the end.
There were days when I received more than 12 SPS per day; I realize this is not much, but it is a significant improvement. I am not sure if I will be able to continue getting the wild pass, but it is been an interesting two weeks. Overall, buying the pass means I am still earning the same amount of SPS because I have to pay for it.
No Legendaries For Me
I did not buy any legendary draws; instead, I gambled with a few chest draws before purchasing rare and common draws. I only bought one epic draw, and that was it. I also purchased and opened four Gladius cases, and I received another Quora. Quora has been instrumental to my games, getting 5 more means I'll get him to level 3, unfortunately earning 5 Quora might even take a year or more, depending on how you're earning merits.
Nothing too exciting, apart from the Quora, and leveling up one or two cards. I have gotten the wild for this season and I'll try it out again

I've noticed the same, more SPS and less glints. Right now the cheapest way to get a pass is to use vouchers, so I've bought some just for a pass. We'll see how it all works out down the road...
At least you pulled a Quora! I need four more to make it to level 3 which will take a year probably. Most of the Gladius gold cards I get I put back into merits to get more packs, the only exception is the gold legendary I just pulled since it's a level 2. Once I can get my regular foil up to two I may trade the gold for merits, that would be 25 packs to open!
Has the rain slowed down at all?
I actually bought vouchers the two times I have paid for a wild pass and it's the cheapest and best way. I guess splinterlands INC knows that players will prefer vouchers, so basically it's raising the price of vouchers
Currently I need some copies too to get to level 3 and you're right, it might just take a year to actually get there. Quoras are hard to come by and some people already have them in level 4 and 5 and with the immunity ability too .
Unlike you I haven't pulled a gold legendary before and I would wish to have that experience. You're right, trading it for more cards will be better since we cannot exchange them for DEC anymore

I agree, focusing on SPS rewards seems to be the smarter move now, especially with the increased requirements. Pulling a Quora is a nice win and leveling up those cards can really pay off in the long run. Congrats on all progress brother !HUG

If you have the finance to level up your cards, do not hesitate, the prices of cards in the market will not stay that low for long. It will be a long term investment that should pay off during the bull run.

Dear friend I also hope to find more copies of Quora to take it to level 2 because with the immunity skill it becomes even stronger especially when the battle rule is noxious fumes.

I think a lot of people underestimate Glint. I looked at the result my modern season and it wasn't that great. I miss Wild but the SPS does look about the same or better than before. It's kind of tough to really decide what is best but I don't think it solves the bot issue either.
