What Are You Working On?
One of my favorite questions to ask my community is....
"What are we working on?"
A bit of context might be needed, you see my community is filled with online entrepreneurs. Heck, the majority of the blockchain is what I consider online entrepreneurs. But for the sake of this example, I'm referring to the CTP Swarm.
The reason I ask that almost daily in our Discord is.....We're calling ourselves online entrepreneurs. We should always be working on something!
Beyond that though, I love to see what others are building. Especially if they have a new post that they created, I always try to support them in every way I can.
However, here's the situation which I'm sure you must be aware of by now....
Life situations have required me to get an offline job. And it's weird man, I'm not going to lie. Waking up at 5:30 am now for 3 weeks, doing actual manual labor lol Now I'm not looking for a pity party, far from it, it's just different for me. For 20 plus years, I've been working for myself. So for the past 3 weeks now, I've actually had a....Boss!
The job is fine, and I'm enjoying the experience and heck even waking up early is kind of cool. But what it's really killing is my time that I can allocate to my online businesses.
Thankfully, I learned something many years ago that I wanted to share with you on how to 'fight' this...
And it comes from one of the best motivational speakers in the history of the industry - Jim Rohn
You may have heard this one before but here it is:
I can just hear him as he says this. Jim passed away a few years ago, but I have so many of his audio recordings in my personal library, it's a must for any serial entrepeneur.
But exactly what is Jim speaking about in this quote?
Jim used to tell this story in his 'Magic of Part Time / Living Your Best Life' seminar series. You can check it out here!
Basically he would state, that we need to work at our daily jobs full time, to pay the bills. But what we do with our free time, or with our part time job will determine the next 10 years of our life!
Sounds familiar right?
You hear @taskmaster4450le and I speak about this a lot in our podcasts. We really need to stop thinking short term when it comes to building on this blockchain. What we choose to work on, and put in the effort TODAY, will have a drastic impact on our future.
That's what I'm doing now with my 'part time job'. It's CTP, it's LEO, it's HIVE, it's CTPX, it's ListNerds....They have now become my part time gig and I will allocate those precious hours after my full time job on them.
So that in the future, all that effort I'm putting in now....Will set me up and my family for life!
No guarantees obviously, but here's the thing.....
God willing, we'll all be here in 10 years from now.
Does watching Netflix with my spare time help my future? Because those 10 years are coming, no matter what I choose to do...
Or does working on my part time job, potentially help my future?
I know what I'll be working on!

It takes lots of work, some luck and constant chances but in the end those dreams come true. Pretty crazy how at the end of it all we do it for others more than ourselves. Been in this game since 2011 and now 12 years later still at it but at a much higher capacity. As you said keep showing up putting in the work and you might not see it right away but over the months and years is when it really starts to show and give you opportunities you never though you'd have. 👍
2011? Man, I would have sworn it's been longer than that. Or we've just been doing this stuff way too long lol
But yeah man, you never know what actions you take now, will end up paying out down the road.

It's important to have a long-term vision and think about the potential impact of our actions on the blockchain. By focusing on creating sustainable and innovative solutions, we can build a strong foundation that will benefit us for years to come. Let's work together to prioritize initiatives that will have a lasting impact on the blockchain ecosystem.

I could see myself here 10 years from now, continuing to build with the community.
Absolutely man! Hoping for many more decades on the chain for sure. It's something special!

And they are surly coming. Amazing reminder knowing what exactly you are building and how to work on it. Sacrifice and consistency for and at your personal craft.
Thanks for stopping by!
Yup, sacrifice and consistency. A fantastic duo to help our future!

I am working on something that would be helpful to the community and give more meaning to my finite existence. Maybe I will build a fortune along the way. Anyway, all the best to our endeavors!
I like the "working part time on fortune" part. It is one of those parts where one can see how the fortune changes once the compounding happens. For most people I suppose not being consistent is the issue. Netflix watching can pay off if you write review on hive lol. Other than that it's a waste of time. I feel writing a lot pays off eventually.
I do a LOT of midnight writing so I can stay active on Hive and the money I make on Hive, the various crypto projects that I have managed to invest in, all stem from Hive. And I have been working a fulltime job since forever and let me just, for once, give my advice on this.
Yes, watching Netflix instead of working after hours on your fortune does not benefit you in 10 years time.
However, you need to GET to 10 years from now. You are still young @jongolson and you need to make time for breathing and resting. You need to spend time in between with that family otherwise all you ever give them is money and you and they never enjoy the benefit of that money together.
I watch Netflix with my family or with my wife. I need a bit of time away from the keyboard to do other things as well. Thankfully, I can blog about THAT stuff as well. A walk on the beach or a day spent at the hobby shop and I can post about it and still earn something.
Just make sure there is something in your cup to pour from!
Love it. Right now I’m working on my tan on vacation. Hahah. I NEED TO GET BACK TI WORKING ON MY FORUNE

Life is tough. Work keeps me busy throughout the day so I don't have as much time to dedicate to Hive. However, I still do what I need to at night to make sure that it will work out in the end. The work pays the bills and everything else is on us.
It is difficult to reconcile two such different jobs but with perseverance it is possible.
In Hive I am working on my SORT token of which more than 1500 tokens have been sold. It has already distributed the first dividends and the token is growing very well.
It sure feels surreal to do something different after 20 years and I understand that feeling, I do. We majorly call ourselves online entrepreneurs, because of what we're constantly trying to build, the future we're trying to activate. I think at the end of the day, taking that day job is part of the grind.
Thinking long terms puts things into a better perspective. The results of constantly showing up may not be apparent now but it definitely will be in the future. For me, that's what gets me excited to put in the neccesary work today to have a fruitful future for me and mines.
It is an inspirational post! A love the part I work on my fortune part-time. I will start to increase my position in CTP and tap into your dream, next stop 1000 CTP!
Interesting article.
I love this meaning! This is why we need to be intentional with whatever we do; either our full time or part time job because choices determines how our lives would be in the nearest future. I am also putting my effort here on this platform as it is my part time job, still looking for an offline job that will help pay my bills and all sorts while preparing the future through these tokens. All will be well.
It's summer time finally, so things are a bit more relaxed at work. That gives me time to work on my Hive account. It's also camping season, so I am working on gathering new content to share on my blog. That keeps me busy. I'm really looking forward to the DAB project that Ray and SSUK are launching soon. Been redirecting a lot of my profits into that.
I am working on being active on a daily basis creating content, commenting and upvoting great content. I also like playing the games on Hive which I consider as part of this work but I have a lot of fun doing it. the Hive Platform has so much to offer that there is just not enough time in the day to do everything so you need to be very focused in what you apply your time. Take care.
