"When it rains... Then dance with it. It's not like it's going to stop anytime soon." By, well, me. Hahaha. That's just a quote that is very random and quite funny if you think about it lol.
Hey Hive friends, how are you?! I hope you are doing well. If you're living around here in the Philippines you would know the extent of the CRAZY WEATHER these past few days. Just this week my sister caught the flu because of the weather, and recently my niece has fever as well. Please pray for their fast recovery. So you guys we have to double dose our Vitamin C intake to combat the flu! π
So speaking of the crazy weather of heat and rain in a day, let's go down memory lane of the June Baguio trip I had with my friends. The rain there is pretty wild too - BUT it did not stop us from exploring the city haha! During our second day of the tours, we headed to Igorot Stone Kingdom. We were all excited! We Googled the place before going there so we had expectations of this beautiful castle-like structure.
As soon as we arrived, the rain literally poured. And we had to wait just by the entrance in order to have roof over our heads. When the downpour was bearable, we could not also go out and explore the place much because (1) our umbrellas were in our van (2) the place is all gloomy and we felt like there's no good shots anywhere and (3) there were quite a crowd taking photos with their umbrellas - so we did not have the mood to go for it.
We all just took a group selfie at the entrance just so we can have a documentation of sorts that we went here haha. Anyway the rain was a blessing in disguise as we got to chat and bond with my friends and also catch up about our plans for the rest of the year. Therefore it was not so bad, y'all. β
Here's what I had Googled about this place though. For fun's sakes, here it is:
πππBack in November 2022, the local government of Baguio closed down the Igorot Stone Kingdom, citing permit violations and structural concerns. The outdoor tourist attraction, which opened in 2021, features Cordilleran lore and culture and is most known for its interesting fortification. A little over five months after its closure, it looks like all is well, as the Igorot Stone Kingdom reopened to the public on April 3.
In an exchange with SPOT.ph, Igorot Stone Kingdom's management also confirmed that they are open once again from Monday to Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The park's administration has also noted that the entrance fees to the attraction have not changed. Adults (ages 13 and over) can enter for a fee of P100; senior citizens, PWDs, and kids from four to 12 years old can enter for P80, and children three years old and below can enter for free.
The Igorot Stone Kingdom highlights the indigenous culture of the Cordilleras. The man-made theme park features stone walls inspired by the rice terraces of Banaue and represents a lost Igorot kingdom of lore. The stone walls that give the park its signature look are built riprap-style, where stones and boulders are interlocked to form a wall. The current structure has been fortified with cement for stability.
The park features different towers and statues of Igorot Gods and myths. Other sights to see include the Igorot Gold Mine, modern-looking castles and forts made of cement, and soon-to-be-added life-sized statues of prominent Igorots.
Baguio Igorot Stone Kingdom is at Long Long Road, Baguio City. It is open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit Igorot STONE Kingdom's Facebook page.

Hi! I loved the photos and that place looks super pretty. It's good that they weren't discouraged by the rain, it's clear that they had a great time.
Greetings!
