Do you ever feel like you are nowhere you're supposed to be at this time and age? Do you feel like work is getting the life out of you and you are as depleted as ever? How do you cope with stress? How do you strike work-life balance?

Hiya, hive friends! How are you all? How have you been? I certainly hope you are not stressed with your work - unlike me and my bestie huhu.

Recently my bestie and I met for coffee. "Coffee" is our one-word SOS which means: we have to meet at a café and talk about what's bothering us. Sit and talk. Hours and hours of just talking and listening and talking and listening. It's how it goes.

Usually, it's my bestie who first shares his "tales of woes" and I listen and then respond. Then we switch and I get to tell him my sentiments and whatnot and he tries his best to give pieces of advice.

My best friend's crisis now is mainly about how he is TERRIBLY STRESSED at his workplace! He's a teacher in a high school here in the city and there are a lot of burdensome tasks upon his shoulders. He even has developed anxiety attacks because of it! 😢 He goes on with his rants about how little support is given to struggling teachers. There is so much administrative work to do that there's no more time for preparing for lessons and lesson planning. 😔

I felt sorry for my bestie and tried to console and comfort him in the way I know. I told him that it is okay to ask for help when it seems all overwhelming. He can tap some students or even hire student assistants to help him with his admin stuff. I also told him that it is best that he spends his personal Me-Time not doing school work but doing things that cultivate his soul and makes him happy.

I am glad that Haj felt a bit relieved when I gave him pieces of advice regarding his work "situation". He promised that he will give more time for work-life balance in his day to day. I hope he really takes it seriously though. Hehe.

I felt better as well as I left that café. I noticed that whenever I extend help to people, I always feel better after. I guess that's the "gift of giving". And for that, I am really grateful!
