Splinterlands: Using Kron the Undying in Outsider battles
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Kron the Undying.
Featured cards

Kron the Undying is an earth splinter that costs 10 mana. This splinter starts with the heal ability. This card learns divine shield at level 2 and last stand at level 3.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Outsider. This means that I can use one wild unit. There is also 60 mana available, and I can use every splinter except water.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Underboss Fabino | 5 | Summoner | +2 melee or poison |
| Ulundin Overseer | 11 | 1st | Flank |
| Mantaroth | 11 | 2nd | Shield and Armored Strike |
| Mad Ogre Anarchist | 6 | 3rd | Opportunity |
| Thanalorian Blade | 6 | 4th | Opportunity and Execute |
| Kron the Undying | 10 | 5th | Heal |
| Fenmoor Wood Troll | 10 | 6th | Blind and Wingbreak |
| Total Mana: | 59 |
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Underboss Fabino for the +2 melee damage on 2 units. Ulundin Overseer is my tank with flank, and Mantaroth is my backup tank. After that are two opportunity monsters. Following that are Kron and Fenmoor with blind. This lineup is built around dealing as much damage as I can. If the match goes into overtime, that is where Kron will shine due to that heal and magic damage.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match is my win. My opponent's damage is too spread out and it can't outdamage my lineup.
Round 3

A few rounds later, I still have all my monsters, but my opponent is down to 1. I have this match won because my opponent can't deal any damage.

I won the match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle this time did go exactly as planned. My lineup just overpowered my opponent, but bringing in Kron just made my lineup that much more overpowered. My opponent would be faced with a high self-healing monster in the middle of the battle and that is hard to overcome without as many monsters.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

So much foundation cards from your opponent. I wonder why? Anyway kudos 👏
I think it makes the game very accessible to others having the foundation cards in Modern due to their very low cost.
I use Foundations as a base and then add key cards to it. Everyone needs to start somewhere I suppose.
I quite agree with you. But,the probability of winning is low. Like myself when I am about venturing into modern ranked battles, I rented some card from the conclave arcana and rebellion sets and coupled with some of my already maxed foundation cards,I began to grow my deck collection gradually. Because I was able to win some games in modern ranked.
I really stayed long playing frontier ranked battles....Like you said, everyone need to start somewhere, just sharing my experience though. Thanks for engaging.
It's the set that is available to everyone. I don't think they can be that competitive due to the level limit, but it works out well to get people started.
Kron is on my list to buy in the near future for those Outsider rulesets. I love this option as a returning player.

!PIMP !PIZZA !LOL
The Outsider ruleset is very interesting to play with especially if you owned powerful wild units
!LUV !PIZZA !LOL
I think the Kron didn't even have to do anything, it was an easy but very comfortable win in my opinion. Great game though, the opponent didn't stand a chance
