Splinterlands: Using Baakjira in Modern because of Outsider

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used a card that I haven't used at all since Modern changed the cards.

Featured cards

Baakjira is a water splinter that costs 6 mana. This splinter starts with the slow and void ability. This card learns strengthen at level 2 and heal at level 3.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Outsider. This means that you can use one wild card in your lineup. There is also 45 mana available, and I can use every splinter.

My summoner is Marlai Singariel for the +1 magic. My tank is Mantaroth with shield and armored strike. After that is Thanalorian Scion as a backup tank with void armor. Anasth Soothsayer is a support monster with cleanse and tank heal. Finally, I have Daarg Deadblast between Baakjira and Grimbardun Smith for their magic damage and abilities.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. The combination of Daarg and Baakjira is an amazing combination, as I have both swiftness and slow to increase the speed of my cards. Besides that, my magic monsters are buffed by my archon, and I will be able to deal massive magic damage.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match due to my lineup. I just have plenty of damage, and my opponent's damage seems too spread out.

Round 2

A round later, my opponent's lineup has just two monsters left, and my lineup hasn't been damaged much at all. There is nothing my opponent can do because of my speed advantage and magic monsters.

I won the match as I expected.

Conclusion

The battle this time did go exactly as planned. I was able to use a card that I used in the previous set of modern with the combination of slow and swiftness. It worked out so well in this fight, and I just love that type of combination. I was surprised to see all the cards I could chose from so it was a tough choice.
