Splinterlands: Taking advantage of the ruleset to overcome a level advantage

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used a suitable lineup depending on the ruleset.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time is Collateral Damage and Global Warming. This means that all monsters gain the reckless and burning ability. There is also 48 mana available, and I can use water, life, death, or dragon splinter.

This battle is very interesting because both rulesets are detrimental to your own lineup. The damage will add up over time.

Total Mana:48

My summoner is Marlai Singariel for its +1 magic. My tank is Spitting Camel followed by a magic monster. After that are random monster that can survive a few hits in the middle of my lineup, and one of them also has taunt. My last monster is a magic monster with slow.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive. I don't usually use range monsters up front, but I don't want my monsters to attack. They are there to tank the damage and let my opponent kill himself through reckless or the burn. I do have a few magic monsters but they are next to other tanky monsters to soak up any damage from the collateral damage.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent has a ton of magic monsters, but they also have low health, so the collateral damage and the burn will wipe out most of my opponent's lineup. However, my opponent does have a level advantage so I have to be prepared

Round 4

round 4.png
After a few rounds, my opponent is left with 1 monster while I have 3. However, I do have one monster that can survive the burn so this match is my win.

I won that match later than round.

Conclusion

The battle this time went exactly as planned. I used an unconventional lineup that took advantage of the lineup. I used multiple monsters in a way that they could not attack, and that ultimately allowed me to have one monster live long enough to survive the burn damage.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Yea, I thought I had lost at first, but I remembered that there was the burn damage and collateral damage.

Really well planned lineup—using the ruleset damage instead of direct attacks was clever.

these kind of ruleset can really help, if you chose team with bunch of hp not always you need to have dmg dealer sometimes is better to sustain for the end!

Yea. Sometimes, you only need to outlast your opponent.
