Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Katrelba Gobson is great in Born Again

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles, with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because I used Katrelba Gobson.

Featured cards

Katrelba Gobson is an earth splinter that costs 6 mana. This card has bloodlust, sneak, and double strike to start. Leveling this card increases its stats, and it gains snare at level 5 and cripple at level 9.

This is acard that I like to use often in Brawls. I don't have it very high level, but the double strike, sneak, and bloodlust combination is very powerful. It would be nice to have this at level 4 so it gains an extra damage, but it's still powerful at level 3.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time is Broken Arrows and Born Again. This means that no ranged monsters can be used, and all monsters gain the rebirth ability. There is also 20 mana available, and I can use earth, life, or death splinter.

This is an interesting match because monsters will revive once per match. They will revive at 1 health, so monsters with plenty of armor can be beneficial, but I also think that Katrelba is great at this ruleset since the double strike gives it a chance to deal a second bloodlust.

My summoner is Wizard of Eastwood for its -2 armor. My tank is Flesh Golem with Heal. Failed Summoner is my backup tank with magic reflect. After that are my two sneak monsters. My last monster is a monster with thorns.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while my melee monsters deal damage. My main damage dealers will be those sneak monsters, and once that bloodlust stacks on Katrelba, it will get very powerful. As I said earlier, the rebirth makes it more likely for Katrelba to stack bloodlust. The thorns monster is there to deal some damage if there are any sneak monsters.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that my opponent has the advantage, but this match can still go either way. I am worried about thta flying monster because it is very easy to miss, and if that happens, my opponent can kill off Katrelba. However, once that last monster is dead, this match is my win.

Round 5

round 5.png
My opponent is has lost that flying monster, but it took a few rounds to do so with all the misses. My Flesh Golem is doing a good job tanking, but my Katrelba Gobson will start stacking up that bloodlust.

I won that match a few rounds later.

Conclusion

The battle this time went exactly as planned. Katrelba Gobson was able to stack quite a bit of damage from the bloodlust, and that made this fight an easy win. My tanks stayed alive long enough as the rest of my damage dealers dealt their damage. There were a few unused monsters, but they were there as a backup incase they were needed. My opponent also didn't have many monsters that could attack. Focusing my damage was the best choice that I could have made in this match, and that allowed Katrelba Gobson to just destroy my opponent after the blodlust stacked.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Yea. That rebirth makes it easy to stack up bloodlust.
