Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge that can be found in this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to learn about the game. In this week's challenge, we talk about a card that I thought was a hidden gem.

Nimbledook Explorer is a life splinter that costs 4 mana. This splinter starts with the protect ability. It learns armored strike at level 5 and heal at level 10. It doesn't have any attacking capabilities normally but it can when it hits level 5 for the armored strike.

Where to use?

What makes this card special?

This card is a low mana card with Protect. I think this card is great because the extra armor can help your team stay alive. Another thing to consider is the armored strike ability because this card learns it at level 5, but other monsters can also have it. So adding this card and increasing armor can also increase the damage you do.

In which mana caps or rulesets does it shine?

I think this card shines more in lower mana cap battles as the cards tend to be not as strong, and the armor there is more impactful. However, I think it shines more in rulesets where magic is at a disadvantage such as weak magic, magic reflect or no magic monsters at all. In these cases, the extra armor is more likely to help out your monsters survive.

What lineups or synergies bring out its full potential?

I think that this card shines in various lineups, but I feel that this cards shines the most when combined with some monsters that have the armored strike ability. This will increase damage, and the extra armor can also help the other monsters in your lineup survive longer.

Do you have a battle where it carried your team? (Share the link!)

In this battle, I used the card to protect my team and increase my damage on Mantaroth. This battle has counterspell as a ruleset so all monsters gain the magic reflect ability. So it is less likely to have magic monsters. I went with a lineup that allows Mantaroth to attack from the 2nd spot because of Flank, and it has the armored strike ability. So Nimbledook Explorer increased my damage by 2 while also protecting the rest of my lineup.

Why do you think more players should be using it?

Yes. I think more people should be using this card. This card is from the Rebellion soulbound rewards so it is relatively cheap at $0.038 per BCX right now on the open market. It's a low mana card, and I find that it has been a good addition to my modern lineup when I use life. This isn't a card that I use too often, but I think I might use it more because I do link the Flank and Mantaroth combination.

Conclusion

Nimbledook Explorer is an underrated card, and I wasn't thinking about it too much either. I did use it from time to time, but now that I look at things, it has more uses than I thought it would. It's relatively cheap with a price of a few cents, so I think this can be a card that even the average person can get to improve their deck. Every card has its uses, and it just depends more on how you use them. In particular, this card just seems amazing when its less likely to have magic monsters because you want take advantage of the armor it gives.

What did you think about this card? Have you used it, and is there anything you would change to make this card even more powerful?

I think I used it only once, because I never found a good use without weapon training and I hadn't white cards with it

I think it depends but if your life deck isn't that strong, then it might not be as helpful

I didn’t realize how useful the Nimbledook Explorer could be in low-mana fights. Its abilities seem really helpful for keeping the team alive.
