Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Commander Slade is great as a tank

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles, with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because I used Commander Slade.
Featured cards

Commander Slade is a water splinter that costs 10 mana. This card starts with the enfeeble and dodge ability. It learns deflect at level 4 and backfire at level 10.
This is one of the two tank monsters that I use for the water deck because of its high stats and that dodge ability. As long as it is not facing magic monsters, this monster can do a great job of staying alive and dealing damage.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time is Noxious Fumes. This means that all monsters start off poisoned. There is also 31 mana available, and I can use water, fire, earth, life, or death splinter.
This is an interesting match because of that poison. If you want to outlast your opponent, you are going to want to use Immunity or Cleanse to keep them alive. It's best to use as many high health monsters as you can to keep them alive.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marlai Singariel | 6 | Summoner | +1 Magic |
| Commander Slade | 10 | 1st | Dodge and Enfeeble |
| Daigendark Surveyor | 2 | 2nd | Magic Reflect |
| Daarg Deadblast | 7 | 3rd | Swiftness and Weapons Training |
| Grimbardun Smith | 6 | 4th | Immunity |
| Anasth Soothsayer | 6 | 5th | Cleanse and Tank Heal |
| Halfling Refugee | 1 | 6th | |
| Total Mana: | 38 |
My summoner is Marlai Singariel for its +1 magic. My tank is Commander Slade. Daigendark Surveyor is my backup tank with magic reflect. Daarg Deadblast has weapons training so it will give magic damage to Daigendark Surveyor and Grimbardun Smith. Grimbardun Smith also has immunity. Anasth Soothsayer is my 5th monster with cleanse and tank heal to keep my Commander Slade alive. My last monster is Halfling Refugee as a filler to delay any sneak monsters.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive as long as possible while the rest of my lineup deals damage. Both Commander Slade and Grimbardun Smith are my monsters of focus because of cleanse and immunity. The rest of the lineup is just some extra damage or filler to keep those two monsters alive longer.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that my opponent has the overwhelming advantage. His tank has 25 health, and he has a monster with all three attack styles. The chances are slim, but I would require quite a bit of luck to dodge a lot of attacks before I stand a chance of winning this match because my opponent can still die to poison. The level disadvantage is just that rough this match. On top of that, my opponent has painforge so his damage will go up every time it takes damage from the poison.
Round 5

My opponent is down to just his tank, but I still have my two monsters alive. Commander Slade dodged a ton of attacks and managed to stay alive. The Enfeeble has done a decent job of keeping its damage low. This match is my win now because of my magic monster and poison.

I won that match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle this time went exactly as planned, but I honestly thought I was going to lose when I saw my opponent's lineup. Commander Slade was the MVP of this match because of how many times it dodged attacks. By staying alive long enough, my opponent lost all of his backline, and I was able to outlast my opponent.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
