Splinterlands: Outlasting my opponent using Dread Tafarian in Collateral Damage

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Dread Tafarian.

Featured cards

Dread Tafarian is an earth splinter that costs 9 mana. This splinter starts with the heal ability. This card doesn't learn any new abilities, but increasing its level will increase its stats.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Collateral Damage and Bloodmoon. This means that all monsters start off with the reckless and bloodlust ability. There is also 45 mana available, and I can use every splinter except for fire, water, or death.

Total Mana:42

My summoner is Aurelia for the +1 health. My tank is Giam Root with strengthen. After that is Dire Bear as a backup tank. Dread Tafarian is my final tank to survive to the end. Finally, I have New Beluroc Aegis with taunt as my last monster.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My monsters can't attack unless one of them dies, and the taunt monster will soak up damage before the rest of the lineup can take damage. The idea is to outlast my opponent as the reckless ability damages my opponent's team.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match due to Dread Tafarian. My opponent has only 1 monster capable of attacking, and that will kill most of my opponent's lineup.

Round 5

A few rounds later, my opponent's lineup has just one monster left and there is fatigue. Most of my lineup is dead, but Dread Tafarian is still healthy.

I won the match as I expected.

Conclusion

The battle this time did go exactly as planned. I set up my lineup to outlast my opponent, and I did just that. I wasn't expecting the match to go into fatigue, but I am glad that everything worked out.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

The fatigue didn't even last for so long. I was wondering why it took you too long to attack only to realize that you only wanted to outlast the opponent.
