Splinterlands: New Beluroc Aegis is amazing in Dragon Breath
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used New Beluroc Aegis.
Featured cards
New Beluroc Aegis is a neutral splinter that costs 8 mana. This splinter starts with the taunt ability. Leveling up this card only increases the stats of this monster. I use this monster quite often in Frontier because taunt makes it a very good monster to use. It is able to soak up quite a bit of damage.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are Earthquake and Dragon Breath. This means that all nonflying monsters take 2 damage per turn, and ranged/magic monsters will land burn on their hits. There is also 38 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire and water.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Incessant Sage for the +1 armor. My tank is Spellmonger with thorns, followed by Lady Amara. Next up is Celestial Guardian with flying so it can help me outlast my opponent and Wild Horse Tamer as a damage dealer. Finally, I have New Beluroc Aegis with taunt as my final monster because that Taunt will attract the magic and ranged monsters. If they can avoid being burned, then it will help me outlast my opponent.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have a slight advantage due to Aegis. That Taunt will attract the damage so my monsters can focus down my opponent.
Round 3
A few rounds later, both of us have 3 monsters left, but I have this match won. The burn plus earthquake will wipe out one monster, then my speed advantage will wipe out the next monster. The ranged monster can't attack anymore after that, so I win by outlasting my opponent even if I miss.
I won the match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did go exactly as planned. New Beluroc Aegis let the rest of my team focus on damage, and that ultimately helped me win this match. There wasn't much my opponent could do when my burn/earthquake started focusing down my opponent's monsters.

STOPTaunt ability can be awesome in some battles, drawing attack and pressure to yourself and allow your damage dealers to carry on is exciting to watch.
I think the difference in the game was that you had cards with more health and outlasted your opponents, so great game. I dislike games where burn impacts my strategy, it makes the game very nervy and uncertain.
The burn and earthquake ruleset effects can immediately take down units in the match
