Splinterlands Engagement Challenge: Welcome to the Frontier!
Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge that can be found in this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to learn about the game. In this week's challenge, we talk about the new Frontier mode.
Frontier Mode
✅ 100% free-to-play
✅ Strategic and rewarding
✅ Earn digital cards you truly own
✅ Great for first-timers — and a fun extra format for longtime players too
The basic information for the Conclave Arcana Conflicts here. This mode is completely free to play, and anyone can play in this mode. In this mode, you do not earn any SPS or Glint, but you can earn more of the frontier cards. This mode only allows frontier cards so there is also less cards, so it will be easier to learn the game.
Campaign Mode
If you want to know mode about campaign mode, then you can view this post. I am bring this up because you need to do this in order to get the cards for Frontier. You can start playing battles without completing the entire thing, but I highly suggest you complete all of the campaign first before you do any Frontier battles because you will be at a disadvantage without all the cards. I did a few fights without doing the last few battles, and I decided it wasn't worth it since my opponent was using a card that I didn't have.
If you didn't check the campaigns after it came out, then there are 4 more parts you can do. These parts are a bit harder, as there were a few battles where I lost, but I was able to pass it because the opponent always uses the same lineup. I would say that you shouldn't give up, and I think there are multiple different solutions. I just went with one that seemed reasonable for me. These fights are worth it because they give you access to some epic or legendary cards that are quite useful.
Frontier Mode
As you can see in the ranked battles, you can see frontier mode on the left-most tab. For every 5 wins you get, you can collect one reward card. There are 3 tiers, and I saw that the 2nd tier is also 5 wins for one card. I am not sure about the last one, though.
I did these fights a few days ago when I first heard about Frontier, and got to one chest. It was interesting to fight, but the fights got harder as I climbed up in ranks. It is interesting to see everyone use different combination of cards to win or lose matches. I think that it will be easy to rake in losses at the start
Here is an example of the reward you would get. As you can see, it was just a single card for 5 wins.
Conclusion
I personally think this is a great change as it allows people to earn cards without paying. It's too bad that you do not earn any SPS or Glint, but I still think its a great way to learn the game because it doesn't have as many cards, and everyone is at the same playing field right now. It doesn't look like anyone will have a large advantage over anyone else because the time spent to earn cards will take quite a while. At least it will be before anyone can max out those cards. Make sure to finish campaigns before you start as you want to make sure you have all the cards available.
Are you planning to participate in the Frontier Mode?

Frontier mode is fun, quite hard, too bad the tradable cards have a niche market, I don't see much movement
Yea. It's a niche market, but I don't think many people who can earn in Modern or Wild will go there. It seems to target the people who don't have many cards and still want to play.
Yes as you can use them in modern, they are a sort of free pass to play modern
That really is a good way to get more people into the game without needing to spend. I hope they keep expanding on it and maybe add more rewards later on.
Yea. I think it's a good way to learn and play the game.
