Splinterlands: Djinn Inferni's Giant Killer is powerful

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Djinn Inferni.

Featured cards

Djinn Inferni is a fire splinter that costs 7 mana. This splinter starts with the Giant Killer ability. Leveling up this card increases the stats of this monster, and it learns stun at level 5. It's a card that I use in Brawls because it can't be used in Modern.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Fog of War. This means that monsters lose the sneak, opportunity, and snipe abilities. There is also 39 mana available, and I can use fire, earth, death, or dragon splinter.

This battle is interesting because the monsters will target the frontmost monster or a taunt monster. So in a way, trying to focus down damage can be a good thing if you can keep your tank alive.

My summoner is Eternan Brune for its -2 armor. My tank is Living Lava because it has the shield ability. After that is Chimney Wallstop with reach and bloodlust. Nimbledook Scout works as a backup tank with backfire. Then I have my magic and ranged damage dealers, with one of them being Djinn Inferni.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing as much damage as possible. My first three monsters are my tanks to keep my damage dealers alive. Djinn Inferni is great because those high mana monsters tend to also be quite tanky. Dealing more damage against them will allow me to take out the monsters faster.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage because I have Djinn Infern for damage. I just have way more damage than my opponent, and my archon removed the armor from my opponent's protect.

Round 4

round 4.png
My opponent is left with just one monster, but I have 5 left. It looks like I have won this match because of all the damage that I have left.

I won that match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle this time went exactly as planned. I wasn't expecting my opponents to use so many high mana monsters, but it worked out well. My tanks did a good job of staying alive while the rest of my lineup dealt damage. Even having a Kron did not help my opponent outlast the damage.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

That giant killer was really good to take down kron... This card only suffers opportunity
