Splinterlands: Daigendark Surveyor is great in keep your distance and fog of war

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Great Bear Druid.

Featured cards

Daigendark Surveyor is a water splinter that costs 2 mana. This card starts with the magic reflect. It learns slow at level 5 and stun at level 10. This is a low mana card, so I like using this card when I can.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

rule set.png

The rulesets this time are Keep Your Distance and Fog of War. This means that no melee monsters can be used, and no sneak, opportunity or snipe can be used. There is also 16 mana available, and I can use wateer or life splinter.

This ruleset is interesting because melee monsters can't be used, and there is no sneak/opportunity/snipe. There also isn't much mana available, so you have to make the most of what you have.

My summoner is Bortus for the -1 magic. My tank is Daigendark Surveyor with magic reflect. Albatross is my backup tank. After that is Argarux Magus with scattershot, Merdaali Guardian with tank heal, and Sultry Barmaid with stun.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Since there is fog of war, Daigendark Surveyor will be the main target by most of my opponent's monsters. No melee monsters can be used, so that magic reflect can help deal some extra damage. At the same time, I have Merdaali Guardian with tank heal to keep my tank alive.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match is my win. My opponent only has one monster that can attack, and that damage will be healed by my healer. It is just a matter of time before I win.

Round 6

round 6.png
A few rounds later, my opponent is down 2 monsters while I barely took any damage. My opponent also can't attack, so this is my win.

I won that match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle this time went exactly as planned. Daigendark Surveyor was able to survive due to my healer, and that magic reflect slowly wiped out my opponent's only attacker. In this match, the mana cap was low, so it was far better to stick to low mana monsters and make the most of them to win.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

The magic reflect did a lot of the damage though, great win. This one went quite well.
