Splinterlands: Arachne Thug's Trample can be useful
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Arachne Thug.
Featured cards

Arachne Thug is a death splinter that costs 6 mana. This card starts with reach. It learns trample at level 5 and knock out at level 9. For a mana cost of 6, I think this card works out quite well as a backup tank and damage dealer.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Blood and Sunder and Broken Arrows. This means that all monsters gain the corrosive armor ability and no ranged monsters can be used. There is also 22 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for earth and life.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thaddius Brood | 4 | Summoner | -1 Health and Magic |
| Cursed Windeku | 6 | 1st | Thorns and Heal |
| Arachne Thug | 6 | 2nd | Reach and Trample |
| Chaos Animator | 3 | 3rd | Void and Amplify |
| Venari Bonesmith | 4 | 4th | Poison and Life Leech |
| Total Mana: | 23 |
My summoner is Thaddius Brood for the -1 health and magic. My tank is Cursed Windeku with thorns and heal. Arachne Thug is my backup tank with reach. After that is Chaos Animator with amplify and void. Finally I have Venari Bonesmith with poison and life leech.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Cursed Windeku is an amazing tank once it has heal, and it will stay alive longer to give Arachne Thug moree chances of dealing damage. Chaos Animator will amplify the thorns damage, and Venari Bonesmith will just deal damage.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match is my win. My opponent has two gladiators, but his damage is all spread out. My Cursed Windeku will survive a few rounds while dealing damage to his monsters during that time period.
Round 2

A round later, my opponent has lost his tank, and most of my monsters are still quite healthy. At this point, I can't lose because I have the speed advantage for most of my monsters, and at worst, the thorns will slowly kill that last gladiator.

I won that match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle this time did go exactly as planned. I had my monsters tank the hits while the rest of my team dealt damage. Arachne Thug's trample hit in both rounds that my opponent was alive in, and it was able to deal some extra damage. The rest of my lineup was useful as they dealt damage as much as possible.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Great game, that thorn can in handy. The opponent's lineups looked very scary immediately the game began. Great win too
I discovered with you that it gets trample 🤣
The combination of Reach and Trample of this card make it an important asset to the team
