Splinterlands: A'lan Musketeer is great in Arcane Dampening

avatar

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used New Beluroc Aegis.

Featured cards

A'lan Musketeer is a neutral monster that costs 8 mana. It only has the double strike ability, but I think it is a fairly good card in Frontier. I got this card recently, and I have noticed that it's a good addition because it is neutral and it can be placed in most fights if I need it. I only have this card at level 1, but the level 2 version of this card is looking amazing, as it would gain another ranged attack.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are High Five and Arcane Dampening. This means that all monsters start off with the void ability, and up to five monsters can be used. There is also 92 mana available, and I can use every splinter except for dragon.

My summoner is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard. After that is Chaos Furybringer with reach. I have another backup tank New Beluroc Aegis with taunt. Finally, I have my two ranged damagee dealers.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Aegis and Frank will tank hits while my ranged monsters deal massive damage.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match due to the taunt monster and my speed advantage. My opponent does have quite a few tanky monsters though.

Round 5

round 5.png
A few rounds later, my opponent's lineup has just onee monster left while I have most of my damage dealers alive. This is my win because my opponent can't attack anymore.

I won the match as I expected.

Conclusion

The battle this time did go exactly as planned. I set up my lineup to take out my opponent while my taunt monster and tanks take the hits. A'lan did a great job of damaging the opponent, and it was one of my best damage dealers.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Great game, I'll always take speed over added health or something and that's what your summoner offered: the speed to actually attack first
