Splinterlands 34th Season of Glint, Merits and SPS
The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. After the free season of Wild ended, I went back to the modern format. It was rough as I lost quite a few matches, and life got busy. So I didn't get as many fights as I would have liked. I did get more than last season, though.
Season Rewards
I ended up with 9,275 Glint for last season, which is more than what I was getting before. I didn't do so great this time because I only got up to Silver II instead of the usual Silver I. My opponents have gotten stronger so maybe my deck isn't strong enough to get enough wins. There was also no bonus ranking Glint.
This season, I did get some chest advancement rewards, but it wasn't so great this time. I went from Silver III to Silver II, and it makes me wonder if I should try to decrease my rank to get more chest rewards. I tend to struggle in modern quite a bit, as moving up from Silver I seems quite hard right now.
This season, I chose to open 1 epic and 14 rares. I felt like getting an epic card after a long while. Nothing good this time around.
Gladius Packs
I have collected 2 packs since the last time I opened packs. The number of packs is one less than last time because our guild did worst in brawls. I am at least happy that I got a gold foil rare card though. I didn't have much hope when flipping the cards.
I got one copy of Orella Abadon gold foil, and this card starts at level 2. I didn't have one copy of this card before, so I can use this card in my brawl fights going forward.
SPS
My SPS rewards were lower than last time. It was around what I expected because I didn't do so many ranked battles, but my brawl rewards were much lower this time around.
It doesn't look like the pool is coming back, so I might move the DEC out of my previous liquidity pool. I plan on staking all of my SPS I got from staking for a total of 111.158 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected if I factor in the time difference.
Conclusion
I am still unable to use up all my energy every single day, and I earned less than the previous season. There wasn't much I could do as time was tight and I couldn't do enough fights. With brawls changed after the modern changes, I find myself earning less from brawls. At this point, I am just submitting my brawl fights and doing some fights from time to time. Summer has been quite busy for me, and there hasn't been much I could do lately.

That gold foil Orella is a sweet win, starting at level 2 and ready for brawls. A couple of Bloodlust pops can turn a bad day around, and it might help offset the dip in brawl SPS. Modern can feel punishing when time is tight, so leaning on a stronger gladius card sounds smart. Which fray or rulesets are you planning to slot her into first?
I am doing gold league gold foil brawls. I just ended up taking that spot because my guild members aren't as active and I have some gold foil cards.
That slot can be a grind, but those shiny borders hit harder in brawls. If your guild is light on activity, grabbing the GF fray is a smart call. Build a small core per splinter around your best gladiators and lean on buffs that stack stats or keep them alive so Bloodlust can snowball. Scouting past lineups in that fray can help you pick safer rulesets and squeeze a couple more wins each cycle.
Since modern is difficult, any edge in brawls will probably help a lot. Lowering rank for chest rewards is probably cool especially when the fights are limited
I will have to look into seeing where my rank sits after not reaching Silver I. Maybe I'll decrease my rank going forward.
