Brawl Report #161: A great brawl for the first time in a while

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches, and it was bad this time around for both me and my guild.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 4 wins. This time, there was 1 free win because 1 guild did not submit anyone. My rewards for the brawl were 3,333 merits and 62.271 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 8 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. Both me and my guild did better this time around.

There were 5 that I lost and 1 that I won. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. All those magic monsters were a killer, and my opponent also had a level advantage over me. I couldn't focus much of my damage due to that taunt monster.

You can find the second match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My opponent ended up using a lot of shield monsters, but I just had the damage advantage. There wasn't much my opponent could do as I heal my tank of any damage it took.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. The taunt monster is a killer, and opponent had both Quora and Katrelba Gobson.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My monsters had armor, and it helped my monsters survive longer than my opponent.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent's opportunity monsters just wiped out my backline, and the level advantage let my opponent attack before me.

Conclusion

Doing 7 fights for 3,333 merits and 62.271 SPS is a good reward for the effort. Both me and my guild did better, but we are still down compared to where we were a few years ago. I am just happy that the rewards are up from last time.
