Brawl Report #140: Another decent brawl

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. The free wins helped out quite a bit, but I didn't get completely wiped in my matches either.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. There was 1 free win this time because oneguilds didn't submit a person for my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 5,000 merits and 62.3 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I did great this time around, and my guild did great again this brawl.

Brawl fights

There were 3 that I lost and 5 that I won. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. There wasn't much I could do with the hydra up front and the level disadvantage.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. This was another battle where my opponent had the level advantage, his lineup was also faster than me too. I couldn't do much against all those double strike monsters.

You can find the third match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. You can read more about it here, but my summoner and martyr played a large part in me winning.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. There wasn't much I could do when my opponent had the speed and damage advantage.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. I had the damage advantage and it didn't take me long to wipe out my opponent's backline. I was worried about martyr but the gladiator didn't stack any bloodlust.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My void armor tank did a great job of tanking the hits while my monsters did damage.

You can find the seventh match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. There were too many monsters on my opponent's side that could not attack. This made it easy to stack the damage and wipe out my opponent.

You can find the eighth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. This was a match between gladiators, as bloodlust decided the match. In the end, I was able to delay my opponent long enough to get that ranged monster up front.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 5,000 merits and 62.3 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did decently this time around, and I am glad to win so many fights. My guild did decent this time around. I wonder if some of the inactive people came back, or if it's because our guild did well in our matches.
