Where Love Travels: Bohol to Forever

This is an amazing story to share. Way back on December 29, 2025, God, in His goodness, allowed me to experience another blessing—one that also carried a meaningful lesson to learn.

On the right side is the Figues family, and beside them are the soon-to-be Knechts—the woman in the pink dress with her fiancé. It’s truly amazing to be part of their love story. Ma’am Algray, one of my high school teachers, is also a Christian. Back in my high school days, she encouraged me to lead other students and invite them to join the non-Catholic organization. While Catholic students attended Mass, we would also gather for our own fellowship.
Pastor James, our youth pastor, and his wife ate Jean were chosen to handle the prenuptial photoshoot. I was there as a personal assistant to Matti, their only son, and I’m truly honored and thankful to the Figues family for allowing me to be part of this beautiful journey.

First, let me introduce this beautiful place. It is located in Cabantian, Guindulman, Bohol—a peaceful and quiet area with ocean breeze and rooms usually occupied by foreigners.

According to Ma’am Algray, this was their meeting place whenever her fiancé visited the Philippines, where they would spend time together and hold Bible studies, as I’ve also seen in her posts.

This place is indeed beautiful—peaceful, quiet, and far from the highway. It is an intimate sanctuary where both body and soul can truly relax, finding rest through meditation on God’s Word.

Meet Matti—a handsome little boy full of cuteness! I had such a great time with him, trying to catch his attention and keep him entertained so he wouldn’t disturb his parents on their job.

As we strolled around the place, I asked him to stay put so I could take some photos… and honestly, he was just too adorable!

He even enjoyed swinging in the hammock

Look at this flower in their place—it’s not artificial, but real and genuine, just like the love that has blossomed and traveled through this place.

Matti tried to touch this huge cactus—it’s real, guys! It was actually my first time seeing a cactus this big… so impressive!

And this stunning house—every single detail reflects its unique beauty. The couple had their courtship moments here, reminiscent of how men decades ago would patiently win the sweet ‘yes’ of a woman.
WELCOME TO LA CASA DE BEATRICE!

Second stop is here in La Casa Panglao was once part of my journey back in 2022 when we had a worship camp. During that time, we learned about musical instruments and the healthy practice of voice lessons. I thank God for that year because He allowed me to experience that moment—to explore this beautiful place and enjoy some snacks there.
Today feels so different, as so many things have already changed.

La Casa Di Beatrice is a charming bed & breakfast in Panglao that feels like a little slice of the Mediterranean right in Bohol. I love this portion of their place it is quiet welcoming and i love how it was designed.
Based on my observation during our next stop for the prenup photoshoot, so much has changed. I truly admire it from the bottom of my heart—it has become even more beautiful and amazing.

Inside this small but cutesy restaurant and coffee room at La Casa de Beatrice, the ambiance is just amazing. The space is air-conditioned, cozy, and perfectly complements the beautiful surroundings. This was actually my second time visiting—the first was back in 202…
It’s the perfect place not only for capturing special moments but also for enjoying snacks and simply relaxing.

I’m not quite sure if I was able to taste their best-selling "Ensaymada" back in 2022, but having it now was an experience I won’t forget. It was incredibly delicious and made me appreciate this place even more. The service they offer is also commendable, especially how they proudly serve their best sellers.

I noticed this rice dish—it’s my favorite. I love how they added green leaves as garnish; it made the presentation even more beautiful.

If ever you’d like to explore this place, there’s a pool where you can relax and truly enjoy the moment. They also have many rooms available for guests.

This very place made my whole being feel at ease. With the beautiful weather surrounding us, it was truly a blast!

Look at these stunning rooms they have—it feels like stepping into an ancient place, almost like being in Italy. *Isn’t it just so amazing? This is one of the rooms you’ll immediately see as you enter the place; it instantly captures your attention.

What I love most about this place is their beautiful spot where you can just sit and relax. They even have a working piano, and I truly enjoyed playing it—even if it was only basic chords. And guess what? I had a little competitor—Matti! 😂 He wanted to be the only one playing the piano.

Behind this smile is a heart full of gratitude—thankful to God, thankful to the Figues family, especially to Ate Jean, and to the soon-to-be bride and her soon-to-be husband. Indeed, this place is stunningly beautiful.

We had our lunch here at La Casa, and they offer so many delicious dishes with great service. What I loved the most was their best-selling Ensaymada, along with the peaceful and intimate atmosphere of the place. It gives you a sense of privacy and comfort. I also tried their mango shake, and it was so good.

After our lunch, it was Ate Jean and Kuya James’ turn to start their photoshoot. As their assistant for the day, I tried to keep Matti entertained so he wouldn’t disturb his parents while they were posing. And you know how Filipinos are—we’re always fond of taking selfies! It was all for good memories. Who knows, maybe I’ll be the next one to have my prenup photoshoot here—hehe, just kidding!
All in all, we shared great moments filled with so much laughter.

Our last stop was here at Panglao International Airport. As Ma’am Algray shared, this place holds a special place in their hearts because every time her fiancé visits, this is where they first meet. From the bottom of my heart, I am still in awe—wow, it’s amazing how God works.
And here I am again. I’m not sure why, but one thing is certain: God is writing my best love story.

While I was there, I took the opportunity to capture some areas of the airport. There was no sunset anymore—we were a bit late—but I still enjoyed the feeling of being there, babysitting and simply soaking in the moment. Hehe.

And while waiting for them, Matti and I really had a great time. We were running around, playing flip the bottle* and flip the coin. We even sat down near the airport road, took more selfies, and shared lots of laughter.*

Until......
He started to get bored, hahaha. He kept asking me why they were taking so long since his parents were on the other side, near where the planes were landing. Honestly, I was getting a little bored too while waiting. We eventually went back to the car, and after a few minutes, they arrived. Kuya James said they were waiting for a plane to pass by—that explains why it took so long, hahaha.
Matti even said, “Aww, they don’t love me anymore,” while pretending to cry—not really crying, just being dramatic. Hahaha! He was soooo cute.

After a quite tiring day, this was finally almost the end—hehe. We parted ways with the soon-to-be bride and had our dinner at Island City Mall, specifically at “The Buzz.” I had a really good dinner there and enjoyed the moment as we wrapped up the day.
Thank you so much, Figues Family.

And finally, it was time to go home. Bye for now, city.
Thankful to God, we arrived safe and sound at my house around quarter to eleven. Phew—what a trip. It was quite tiring, yet my heart is so full. I am still in awe of God’s beautiful favor in my life—allowing me to witness not just a love story unfolding, but also His perfect timing and the blessings that come in seasons of waiting.
Indeed, every moment was a reminder that God writes the most beautiful stories, and His plans are always worth the wait.
