RE: LeoThread 2025-07-23 23:18

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

A question regarding the $LEO circulating supply: according to LeoDex, it's currently 29,999,931. However, when we check on Hive-Engine, the data is that 1,928 LEO have already been burned (compared to 69, on LeoDex), so we'd currently have only 29,998,072 tokens in circulation.

Will there be a data conciliation, to be sure there aren't new LEO being created on any chain? 😀

Hey

The bridges reallocate accordingly every few weeks (not in real-time) when a burn happens elsewhere

LEO is now natively on Arbitrum. The burns need to happen there for the native coin to be actually burned

That being said, if 1 LEO is burned on HE, it can never be bridged back

So the bridge will recognize burned heLEO and simply burn the equivalent amount of Arbitrum LEO on a semi-regular basis to keep the supplies similar

Think of burning heLEO as "losing coins". Those coins can never be recovered, so the Bridge Oracle burns them later on to materialize the actual burn on Arbitrum

Hope this makes sense!

Perfect sense, thanks a lot for the detailed answer, Khal!

With LEO existing on 4 chains - and probably on 5 in the near future, with Rujira - the burn speed through the bridge will likely be high 😀.

PS: have you seen my thread from some days ago, about the meaning of "Rujira" in French? 😉
