Since the 2019 release of its anti-privacy policy (where #Meta acknowledged they own everything WA's users send through the app), #WhatsApp is by far the worst IM option - not for public servants only.
U.S. House tells staffers not to use WhatsApp
The chief administrative officer of the U.S. House of Representatives, Catherine Szpindor, told staffers on Monday they are not allowed to use WhatsApp due to a lack of #transparency about its data #privacy and #security practices. Staff members must remove WhatsApp from their devices if they have the app installed on them, the CAO instructed by email
Meta disagrees with that “characterization in the strongest possible terms,” company spokesperson Andy Stone posted on X
Meta is currently embroiled in an #antitrust case with the Federal Trade Commission over the social media company’s acquisitions of WhatsApp and #Instagram.
