LPUD 1st Anniversary Coming! You Ready to Roar? (How to Get LEO)

Time's fast and LeoFinance is celebrating the Leo Power Up Day first anniversary on the 15th of June. Whilst the first LPUD badge was issued on the 15th of August 2022, the power up initiative started 2 months before that (15th June 2022). And although Leo Finance has been around Hive for years, the LPUD initiative only started last year and it's been going strong since.

And it is to note from here that in the last 40+ days during the Adoption Campaign period, the community was able to stake more than 1 million LEO tokens. That definitely shows something. This time, the anniversary goal is to break the record relating to the number of people staking at least 150 LEO on LPUD from 195 to 200 lions.

These delegations are very helpful in accumulating LEO through curation rewards. There's nothing too small because they all add up. And that also goes to the upvotes we get on LeoThreads. The micro-earnings there cannot be ignored. The good thing is that the rewards are in liquid LEO so you can stack them up on your Hive-Engine wallet and stake them on LPUD. They make a good sum before you know it.

How to get LEO

Aside from buying LEO from the internal market (LeoDex etc), there are other ways to get them basically for free and let me share some of them based on my own experiences. I believe I have mentioned most of these before but putting them out here again for those who missed it.

Delegating Hive Power to @leo.voter

The delegation rewards come daily in the form of liquid LEO (from the account leo.bounties). That's making your HP work to get you LEO.

Showing up on threads.

Creating threads (include engaging) of course! I love LeoThreads and spend most of my time there, well except lately where I am less active generally on Hive due to my limited power supply and wonky internet. But yes, there I get rewarded with tiny amounts of LEO that seem too insignificant but they add up quite nicely. Of course this needs your time.

Via the Boombastic (boom1me) by onealfa.leo

One of the LEO whales has this initiative where he drops the boom1me banner and the first 5 who comment on it will get his whale upvotes. If you are the first, make sure to do a second comment so you get twice his 100% curation. Others beyond the 5 still get curated. He does it twice a day. Here's one of it:

Check his profile for the conditions or mechanics of the boom1me tag. You can even create threads related to the boom1me tag and he'll give it a 10% upvote. Do note that comments should be made via the LeoFinance frontend to show up on on his comment box. Are you lucky enough to grab some of these boombastic votes?

Sharing other people's post or your own article on LeoThreads PROPERLY.

Most people tend to just drop their post links on threads. I discovered that formatting your thread and not just sharing a bare post link works better. Creating a threadstorm is good too.

I learnt that through this, we get to earn GOSH tokens (when using the gosh tag) which we can either keep in our wallet or sell to buy LEO. That's double win, yeah? If the threads don't get curated, at least there's another chance to earning other token.

I recommend you to experiment and see what works for you too.

Curating on threads

This of course require your account to have Leo Power or if you have received LP delegations from others. Upvoting threads give you curation rewards.

Creating long-form posts on Leo UI

I know, this is like a lottery because not all posts get curated and it sucks. But you will never know when you get yor break. And there is the "stake-based" curation so another reason to build our Leo Power and stay active. Also, do know that doing tasks on Zealy (i.e. writing posts) can get your article curated if you follow the post etiquettes.

Well these are just a few ways to acquire LEO and there are some more like selling other HE tokens and buying LEO, providing liquidity on the DeFi side (Diesel Pool and others).

Of course, these shouldn't be the main reasons to use threads or the Leo UI. The idea is to start being there, have fun learn along the way and you will see the difference over time.
