The Ultimate Incentive: How Cash Prizes Fueled My Academic Journey

While Growing up most of kids hated studying for once in a lifetime but there was this very specific reason why I liked studying when I was a kid.

Before I talk about what that reason to like study was let me tell you that from the very beginning my mother taught me how to write alphabets from ABC to all that, she was my tutor and it was so special to me.

back then I used to hate studying only for one reason that was because my mom used to be so strict.

Everytime I used to do maths homework and I have to solve a maths problem. my biggest fear was not being able to solve "1+1=2" because the moment I write it wrong "1+1=3... I knew it mom is going to slap me.

This is so normal asian parenting like teaching kids strictly and the best part of studying used to be "cash reward for your academic brilliance".

Cash Reward For Your Academic Brilliance in Childhood

This is the best part not just because of the cash you're going to get but my mom had other plans for me as well. I made this kind of a deal with her like If I'm going to get a position in school.

You'll have to make one wish of mine come true and she used to say I'll make that wish come true if it's acceptable.

She used to put a lot of efforts on my studies back when I was kid and it was one of reasons why I always got a position in my class.

I remember getting second position that one time and she was upset because it wasn't first but I said I'll work for it and get it next time.

Even though I was second and got a trophy in school as well as a little cash prize or about "500 rupee" that used to worth much a lot back then compared to now.

I Got My First PC

That cash reward wasn't only thing I got but also my mom bought me computer which I asked her to get me when I'll get a position.

Back then when I received Cash prize and this PC as a reward for my studies. It literally motivated me and increased my interest in studies even more.

So the next time I worked even hard and that was 5th grade and I got my first position in the class.

Students coming on top in class should be rewarded

Now most of the schools specifically private one's gives cash prize to those students who comes on top in every session.

It is good way to encourage these students like it feels that our efforts have been appreciated by all of them today in the form of that trophy and cash prize.

Like who wouldn't want to celebrate a victory with the prize money? believe me a burger tastes way better when it is coming from the cash prize because of your academic Brilliance.

Other than Cash prize, Scholarships are even better

It is even more better that a student receiving scholarship because of their academic brilliance and coming on top.

A scholarship that covers the cost and expenses of next semester and year, finance and facilate student is much better than any cash prize or trophy.

In the end sometimes all a student want is encouragement and appreciation from the teachers and institute that comes as a form of trophy, cash reward or scholarships.
