From Playtime to Panic: How First Aid Saved My Cousin's Life

Life is so unexpected sometimes you can easily get hurt while you're just walking down the road and there are situations of medical emergency where you need to take matter in your own hand.

i think most kids are taught about first aid from childhood days to make ensure they know what to do when get hurt but in my case only thing I knew was doing bandage that was honestly more than enough for the wounds.

I remember this one incident that happened years ago in childhood and without first aid knowledge it could've become worst for us and will share more about it ahead in the post.

The Time When cousin got injured badly while playing

Back then we used to spend more time with the family and meeting up with cousins than playing together was a fun part of the day.

So, everytime when it gets dark at night and there's no electricity in the town than we used to go at nearby park it was a ladies park & children's were allowed to go.

Like every normal day we were all playing "catch the thief" did roleplay in real life long ago meanwhile nowadays kids are doing it online in some GTA V game.

Anyways that day it turned into a nightmare for all of us. While we were running and chasing each other than we heard someone shouting and crying.

When we came to the spot saw my cousin foot is bleeding and there was this glass inside his foot.

We were all so scared

That was probably my first time watching injury like that from so close and was seriously worried what is going to happen with him.

Good thing was his mom who's my aunt was around that place and she knew what to do.

But before she arrived we already moved him to a better place and removed that piece of glass from his foot that was visible and than to stop the flow of blood we had to cover it with peace of cloth as there was no bandaid etc around us.

First Aid saved his blood and he got treatment later

After bandage aka piece of cloth slowed down his blood flow from the wound we took him to the hospital with his mom.

It wasn't that big town so hospital was just around the next street.

took him there immediately and first thing doc said was you guys did good by trying to stop blood with first aid.

Than he got stitches and he was all fine and healthy again in few weeks.

Wrapping Up...

That day I learnt first aid and human problem solving in critical times can work like a magic and with coordination of each other it just gets better to handle difficult situations more easily.

It was about long time ago but the process stayed in my mind and I can manage such case alone now. I hope you found this interesting and would love to know your thoughts in the comments.
