Alive & Thriving ThankfulThursday : Survived a Week into 2026 🎉|| AATYr6 || Prompt A Day 😊

Heya all, it's been a week now since we welcomed the new year. 🎉 Amazing how time flies indeed! Lots of changes and adjustments need to be done for the year, and I will be working on them slowly. 🤔

Updates from my week: I had that first Saturday memorial mass scheduled for Mom. I ordered flowers as well as her birthday was on the 6th. I figured it would be a two in one occasion. These days masses do not come cheap esp. if I will add flowers. I do miss Mom a lot. 🙏❤️💡 Then, I was able to book a cleaning schedule for the air conditioning unit. Unfortunately, the unit would not turn on after the cleaning was done. A service report was submitted, but the schedule for this week is pretty booked so I will need to wait for one next week. It's a good thing I had this task done early. I need a working cooling system when summer comes around. I'd love to be ready.

More updates on my daily steps. Thankfully, that has been a week of reaching my target of 5K steps daily. I will do my best to maintain the consistency of my walking exercise. I'd say I'm experiencing slight improvements as there are times when I'm feeling less pain. Well I still need the cane when walking, but I can manage somehow to walk more these days. Whew!

Well, part of my cost cutting for the year means I need to cook my own meals. 😆 It was convenient having a meal subscription, and I also lost weight (so I'm thankful for that at least). However, I do find myself craving some dishes that are not on the menu. I'm definitely not looking forward to the potato salad on the menu. 😅 Time for change... I prepared chicken with mixed veggies here. For the sauce, I used an orange and added soy sauce and brown sugar. Voila! It's good for at least two meal times too. Guess I can schedule night time cooking for a full day or two of meals. I'll see how that goes. It's all about making changes for the better this year. Wish me luck! 🤞🍀

What a lovely quote for the start of another year. I know we've had a week into 2026, but the rest of the year still awaits. We have the whole year ahead of us, and it is up to us on how we go about our every day life. I pray that this year will be so much better than last year. I can only do my best, so I better start early on in being mindful of all my decisions. Buckle up and let us enjoy the ride... 🚀

Tomorrow is a holiday in Manila where I am. It's the Feast of the Black Nazarene. Regular offices would be on holiday, but I will be working from home as usual. 😅
