It's official. Jan Virgili (19) is a Mallorca player in every sense of the word. Both Barça and the Balearic club have announced the completion of the deal. The transfer will be made at Camp Nou and at Son Moix as a future signing. The final agreement came after a two-way meeting between Barça sporting director Deco and Mallorcan representatives Pablo Ortells and Aritz Aduriz.
Jan Virgili, who had already extended his contract with Barça until 2027, had successfully passed his medical in Palma, and only the exchange of documents remained, which was signed at the last minute. The winger has signed a five-year contract, until 2030.
Neither club disclosed the terms, but it is speculated that Barça will receive €4 million and 50 percent of the rights from a future sale, with a right of first refusal, but not a purchase option.
Jan Virgili is following in the footsteps of Pablo Torre, who also signed for the Mallorcan club this season, and he may not be the last after the Balearic club's representatives also expressed interest in Héctor Fort.
This season, Jan Virgili began the summer with preseason training with the first team. After a few days under Hansi Flick, the winger returned to Barça Atlètic training. He also starred in the U-20 Intercontinental Cup final last week, scoring a goal.
