The goalkeeper, although he had been working at the Ciutat Esportiva for a few days, made his official debut this Monday in a session at Barça under the orders of his new coach.
Joan Garcia, Barça's biggest signing so far for the 2025-26 season, completed his first official training session this Monday afternoon at the Camp Tito Vilanova at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despí. Also joining the squad was 19-year-old Swedish striker Roony Bardghji, the other new arrival from Denmark's Copenhagen.
The former Espanyol goalkeeper had been working out at the training facility for a few days alongside the players who had brought forward their return to activity after their return from vacation, but this afternoon's session was his first under Hansi Flick.
Joan Garcia didn't join Ter Stegen on the pitch, who stayed on in the gym with his future in question, but he did work side by side in goal with Szczesny and Iñaki Peña.
Barça will train at the Ciutat Esportiva until July 24, when they will travel to Asia, with their first stop in Japan before playing Vissel Kobe on July 27.
