Hi community!

FC Barcelona announced that due to a calf injury in his right leg, he will be out for approximately that time, meaning he will miss matches against Atlético Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, among others.

FC Barcelona's 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, which complicates their path in the Champions League group stage, wasn't the only bad news to come from the post-match after the bitter trip to London. The Catalan club announced on Thursday that midfielder Fermín López will be "out for approximately two weeks" due to a "minor injury to his right calf muscle."

Fermín suffered the aftereffects of the blow he received in last Saturday's league match against Athletic Bilbao, in the tackle by Oihan Sancet that resulted in the Athletic player's expulsion. Fermín made an effort to help the team in their European visit to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, starting the match but being substituted. The academy graduate didn't provide the spark that, regardless of his accuracy, he always possesses in that Champions League game.

Meanwhile, the recovery of Pedri González, who trained with the Barcelona squad on Thursday and is expected to return for this weekend's league match against Alavés, also allows Fermín to take a well-deserved rest to minimize any risks.

Fermín's absence from the upcoming matches, including Atlético Madrid's league visit to the Camp Nou next Tuesday, December 2nd, could be a good opportunity for Dani Olmo to reclaim his starting position in Barça's attacking midfield. The period of medical leave predicted by the club would also keep Fermín out of the starting lineups for next Saturday's match against Alavés, next Tuesday's match against Atlético, the match against Betis at the Benito Villamarín on Saturday, December 6th, and the Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, December 9th. If Fermín's expected absence is confirmed, the 22-year-old midfielder could be available again for coach Hansi Flick on Saturday, December 13, at the same venue against Osasuna.
