Barça's first domestic double treble.

Hi community!

Never before had a club won three national titles for its men's and women's football teams.

FC Barcelona has made history this season. After the first women's football team lifted the Copa de la Reina trophy on Saturday by defeating Atlético Madrid 2-0 in the final, the Catalan club became the first in history to achieve the first domestic double treble.

League, Cup, and Super Cup. These are the three titles Barça have won this 2024/25 season, both for the men's and women's teams. It was a dream campaign in Hansi Flick's first season in charge at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Montjuïc, and also in Pere Romeu's debut as manager of the women's football team at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

In fact, apart from being the first double treble, it's also the first League and Cup double. This would have made it a historic event on its own, but winning both Super Cups has made it even more so.

In addition, we find several other similarities between the two teams. For example, in the Super Cup, both teams defeated Real Madrid in the final by scoring five goals: 5-0 for the women's team and 2-5 for the men's team. They also defeated Real Madrid, the second-placed team, in La Liga, while Atlético de Madrid and Athletic Club finished third and fourth, respectively, in LaLiga EA Sports and Liga F.

Regarding the Copa del Rey, Flick's team defeated Atlético Madrid in the semifinals and Real Madrid 3-2 in the final, while Pere Romeu's team did the opposite: against Real Madrid in the semifinals and defeated Atlético Madrid in the final.

Both teams were left wanting in Europe. The men's team reached the semifinals of the top international club competition for the first time in six years. However, they lost to Inter Milan in the second leg after extra time, thwarting their dream of playing in the final in Munich against Paris Saint-Germain.

The women's team, meanwhile, reached the final in Lisbon against Arsenal, led by former Blaugrana player Mariona Caldentey. The Catalans failed to retain their European crown for the third consecutive year, losing 1-0 to the Londoners.

So, this incredible feat of winning a double treble could be further improved by adding the Champions League, making it the first double poker of titles in the history of a football club.
