"Barça had to be built from the ground up, and we've done it."
Hi community!
Rafa Yuste, vice president of sport, highlighted the value of La Masia in his report.
Rafa Yuste, vice president of sport, explained in his sports report that "these have been four intense, demanding, but also exciting years. A period of brave decisions. We knew we had to build Barça from the ground up, and we've done just that. We've recovered the value of La Masia, the team is once again made up of homegrown players. And I guarantee you there will be many more to come."
He stated that "we are back in competition and we want to triumph again. That will only be possible with a solid and ambitious plan" and provided a series of data on the work of the sports department over the years: "In 2021, the payroll was €617 million, 98% of ordinary income. With sales and rigor, we reduced it to €518 million in 2021-22; today it stands at €534 million, 54% of ordinary income. These figures show that our program doesn't just seek sporting success; there is also financial and club responsibility. We want a Barça that is brave, intense, and true to its style."
He also called for unity and hinted at his return to Camp Nou: "We're coming home. Frenkie de Jong told us on the day of his renewal: we feel close to people when they're close, if they're far away we don't feel them as much."
See You soon!
