The biggest lesson I've learned on Hive is that we don't own anything under centralized control. True ownership can only be achieved through decentralization. Fortunately, platforms like Hive and Bitcoin offer true decentralized blockchains. While other projects may emerge, it is highly unlikely that any can achieve the level of decentralization that Hive and Bitcoin have, thus ensuring true ownership.

This lesson became evident during a hostile takeover attempt by a Chinese billionaire, Justin Sun. Fortunately, he failed in his attempt because the Hive blockchain is built by the community for the community. This incident highlighted the importance of community-driven, decentralized platforms that ensure ownership for its users.

The realization that true ownership can only be achieved through decentralization has significantly influenced my life outside of the blockchain. I have become more cautious about where I invest my time and resources, focusing on areas where I can have true ownership. Governments can take away everything if it's not under a decentralized protocol.
