What happened in crypto in the past week? This week Clarity act is delayed one year, and stablecoins are the main player for now in cryptosphere. Bitcoin may have big bets on $72K. I found a way to expose myself to BTC via BlackRock, using Freetrade. Feel free to check them. What else? Read below:

  • Bitcoin: Big traders are betting $2.5 billions on Bitcoin hitting $72K. Strategy did not buy any BTC last week, selling 2.7 MSTR shares for $263M to build its cash reserves up to $3.23B.

  • Ethereum: The Ethereum Foundation spins out EthSystems, which focuses on building private and confidential settlement layers for ETH, targeting institutional adoption. Bitmine holds 5.78M ETF worth $10.8B, representing 4.8% of total circulating ETH, 96% of its target to reach 5% total supply and they earn now hundreds of millions from staking.

  • Altcoins and stablecoins: OpenUSD, backed by over 140 companies, including Blackrock, Coinbase, Visa and Stripe, plans to share stablecoin reserve yield directly with bussinesses that use it, rather than keeping it. Stablecoins settled $33 trillion in 2025, double Visa's annual volume. Even Saylor's Strategy increased their USD reserve by $450M, up to $3B. Strategy did not buy any BTC last week, selling 2.7 MSTR shares for $263M to build its cash reserves up to $3.23B.Tether invested $20M in Argentine neobank Uala, part of a wider push by Tether into Latin American financial infrastructure.

  • NFTs and blockchain games: I have also enjoyed playing Golem Overlord lately on Hive, and it is quite engaging, I would say, with no significant updates lately. On Splinterlands, we have had the Land NFT new update and improved tokenomics, and the new cards from the Verico land packs are here. Jupiter introduced Jupiter Gacha, allowing users to open digital packs, collect cards, and trade them, all on Jupiter.

  • Good news: Revolut just won crypto approval in Dubai. Tokenization platform Tradable plans to bring $1B in private credit assets onto the Stellar blockchain, the second network after ZKsync. T.Rowe launched a multi-token crypto ETF, TKNZ, an actively managed fund holding BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP and HYPE. Ledger build a wall between AI agents and your funds, an open-source toolkit that defines exactly what AI agents can do with a crypto wallet. MoonPay acquired Gline, a startup that built a single deposit flow letting users fund wallets from different chains, tokens, exchanges, or payment cards in one step. Some are talking that Gen Z might never need a bank accout, managing their finances entirely through digital wallets and stablecoin vaults. Neobanks globally now serve 1.4B users as the shift away from traditional banking accelerates. Nigerian president signed an executive order on July 18 to unify the country's fragmented crypto regulatory framework. Nigeria accounts for 60% of sub-Saharan Africa's stablecoin inflows.

  • Bad news: Czeck Republic also added Polumarket to its unauthorized gambling platform on July 13. France ordered its internet service providers to block Polymarket on July 16, classifiying it as an illegal gambling operation under the French law. Yet Bernstein said that prediction markets will overtake Robinhood's crypto revenue. Exodus is cutting 25% if its staff, shifting focus from self custody toward full-stack stablecoin payment infrastructure.

  • Joke of the week: Trump will meet Republican senators and senior White House staff on Thursday to resolve the Clarity Act's ethics provision, but this is quite ironic, as the issue is government staff using their position to make money on the blockchain. Can you gues who made $1.4B through market manipulation, rug pulls and even fraud during its time as President? US stablecoin rules are one year late and still missing. Will they confiscate the money made through this illegal methods? Until then, every Senator voted against an SBF pardon. You know him, the FTX fraud boy. But then, FTX is paying out billions to creditors again this month, reaching roughly $10b once this round completes.

All the best,

George

Why not...

...have fun and win rewards on my favourite blockchain games (Splinterlands- a Hearthstone-like card game) (Golem Overlord - a Play2Earn game on Hive) (Holozing - a Pokemon-like game)and ( Chain of Legends - with a hint of Heroes of Might and Magic).

...get crypto while writing on the Publish0x blog. I am also writing for crypto on Hive.
