Ever since her exams ended, Gurseerat had been asking every single day when we would go to visit her cousins. I kept promising her Sunday, as that is my only day off from the office. However, when Sunday finally arrived, I found myself stuck with extra work that I needed to finish. I was struggling to figure out how to manage my time until I learned that one of my own cousins was planning to stop by.
​Since his home is on the way to where Gurseerat’s cousins live, I asked if he could drop her and my wife off. He agreed, which was a huge relief. They reached around 5 PM, and surprisingly, Gurseerat has not even called me since. She must be having the time of her life playing with her cousins. It is funny how we adults forget the world when we're busy with work, but kids forget everything the moment they start playing.

जब से परीक्षाएँ समाप्त हुई थीं, गुरसीरत हर दिन यही पूछ रही थी कि हम उसके कज़िन्स से मिलने कब जाएँगे। मैं उसे रविवार का भरोसा देता रहा, क्योंकि ऑफिस से मेरी साप्ताहिक छुट्टी उसी दिन होती है। हालाँकि, जब आखिरकार रविवार आया, तो मैं कुछ अतिरिक्त कामों में फंस गया जिन्हें पूरा करना बहुत ज़रूरी था। मैं समय का प्रबंधन करने के लिए संघर्ष कर ही रहा था कि मुझे पता चला कि मेरा एक कज़िन हमारे यहाँ आने वाला है।
​चूँकि उसका घर उसी रास्ते पर था जहाँ गुरसीरत के कज़िन्स रहते हैं, मैंने उससे पूछा कि क्या वह मेरी पत्नी और गुरसीरत को वहाँ छोड़ सकता है। वह मान गया, जिससे मेरी बहुत बड़ी चिंता दूर हो गई। वे शाम करीब 5 बजे वहाँ पहुँच गए, और हैरानी की बात यह है कि तब से गुरसीरत ने मुझे फोन तक नहीं किया है। वह पक्का अपने कज़िन्स के साथ खेलने में बहुत व्यस्त होगी। यह मज़ेदार है कि कैसे हम बड़े काम में व्यस्त होने पर दुनिया को भूल जाते हैं, लेकिन बच्चे खेलते समय सब कुछ भूल जाते हैं।
