Winter Chills & Birthday Thrills - IIAC - Day 874

It feels like time flies on Sundays! The weather has changed significantly over the past few days, and winter is finally making its presence felt. Last week, my wife and daughter made plans to visit my sister-in-law’s home for my daughter’s cousin’s birthday.
Saturday was particularly chilly since the sun never came out. My wife wasn’t really in the mood to go out, fearing the cold weather might lead to a runny nose or a cold. However, Gurseerat was determined to go, so we finally left for our native place on Saturday evening. Our plan was to stay there overnight and head to her cousin’s house on Sunday afternoon.
Her cousin was waiting eagerly and started calling us first thing in the morning to see how far we’d come; the kids were so excited! We arrived in the afternoon just in time for the cake ceremony. After the cake was cut, the kids started playing, and I headed back. Gurseerat is staying there for two more days, and I’m sure they are all going to have a lot of fun.

ऐसा लगता है कि रविवार को समय बहुत जल्दी बीत जाता है! पिछले कुछ दिनों में मौसम में काफी बदलाव आया है, और आखिरकार सर्दी का एहसास होने लगा है। पिछले हफ़्ते, मेरी पत्नी और बेटी ने मेरी बेटी के कज़िन के जन्मदिन के लिए मेरी भाभी के घर जाने का प्लान बनाया।
शनिवार को खास तौर पर ठंड थी क्योंकि सूरज निकला ही नहीं। मेरी पत्नी का बाहर जाने का मन नहीं था, उसे डर था कि ठंडे मौसम से नाक बहने लगेगी या सर्दी हो जाएगी। हालाँकि, गुरसीरत जाने के लिए पक्की थी, इसलिए हम आखिरकार शनिवार शाम को अपने गाँव के लिए निकल पड़े। हमारा प्लान था कि हम वहाँ रात रुकेंगे और रविवार दोपहर को उसके कज़िन के घर जाएँगे।
उसका कज़िन बेसब्री से इंतज़ार कर रहा था और सुबह सबसे पहले हमें फ़ोन करने लगा कि हम कितनी दूर पहुँचे हैं; बच्चे बहुत उत्साहित थे! हम दोपहर में ठीक केक सेरेमनी के समय पहुँचे। केक कटने के बाद, बच्चे खेलने लगे, और मैं वापस आ गया। गुरसीरत वहाँ दो दिन और रुक रही है, और मुझे यकीन है कि वे सब बहुत मज़े करेंगे।
