Small Idlis, Big Smiles - IIAC - Day 870

Today is day 870 of participation,

One quarter exam is still left now. The only good part about the quarter tests was that the school opened an hour later, which was a big relief for the kids - they didn’t have to wake up early. They also returned home sooner since they were free after the exam. There was at least one holiday between every two exams.

Day after tomorrow, we’ll have to switch back to the regular morning schedule as normal school timings will resume. In the evening, Gurseerat asked if we could go out for dinner. Just then, one of my friends visited, and we decided to take the kids to one of Gurseerat’s favourite places - Little Idli. She loves their idli and dosa, and my friend also enjoys the taste since we’ve been there together before.

On their maame’s recommendation, we ordered the “little idli” dish for the kids. The idlis are quite small- about one-third the size of the ones we make at home. Sharing some pictures of them clicked at the restaurant.

अभी एक क्वार्टर एग्जाम बाकी है। क्वार्टर टेस्ट की सबसे अच्छी बात यह थी कि स्कूल एक घंटा लेट खुलता था, जिससे बच्चों को बहुत राहत मिली - उन्हें सुबह जल्दी नहीं उठना पड़ता था। एग्जाम के बाद फ्री होने की वजह से वे जल्दी घर भी आ जाते थे। हर दो एग्जाम के बीच कम से कम एक छुट्टी होती थी।

परसों से हमें फिर से रेगुलर सुबह के शेड्यूल पर वापस आना होगा क्योंकि स्कूल का नॉर्मल टाइम शुरू हो जाएगा। शाम को गुरसीरत ने पूछा कि क्या हम डिनर के लिए बाहर जा सकते हैं। तभी मेरा एक दोस्त आया, और हमने बच्चों को गुरसीरत की पसंदीदा जगहों में से एक - लिटिल इडली - पर ले जाने का फैसला किया। उसे वहाँ की इडली और डोसा बहुत पसंद है, और मेरे दोस्त को भी स्वाद अच्छा लगता है क्योंकि हम पहले भी साथ में वहाँ जा चुके हैं।

उनकी मामी की सलाह पर, हमने बच्चों के लिए "लिटिल इडली" डिश ऑर्डर की। इडली काफी छोटी थीं - घर पर बनने वाली इडली के साइज़ का लगभग एक-तिहाई। रेस्टोरेंट में खींची गई उनकी कुछ तस्वीरें शेयर कर रहा हूँ।
