The Spirit Of Christmas, The Good Old Days.

Good day my lovely readers, Happy New Month from this side and hope you are already enjoying the last month of the year, well let's keep that for another day because today I would be discussing on Christmas As A Kid Or An adult, let's see our honest views.

Christmas has always been beautiful since day one whether as an adult or a child but what makes it more memorable are the activities we engage in during those festive periods, I can remember sitting and laughing while the boys in our crew go to play knockout as we ran and hide as not to to be caught because anyone that's being caught is on his or her own, the sounds and reaction we get from playing those knockout are always fun, another activities is this playing of games to win any size of balloons and you would see us playing and playing it until we exhaust all our money because we want the biggest size which we never win, another activities is walking from one person's house to another greeting them seasonal greetings where we never leave empty handed, we are either tipped with money for happy Christmas or we get drinks and chinchin and if the person is that generous meat would be added in the leather, I always love such movement but it so unfortunate that we are not allowed in my house to go about entering people's houses during Christmas, the only time I joined was me sneaking out without anyone's permission.

I can also agree that Christmas was better when I was a kid because Nigeria itself was much better where things were cheap and affordable for everyone, where we would cook different varieties of food and everyone are allowed to make their choice in what you would want to eat, we would eat different kinds of food till we get a running stomach, times where your aunties and uncles gift you money and clothes even without you asking, times where we fry chinchin for Christmas without much calculation but things have really changed now and I don't know if to say it has changed for good or for worse.

Now we don't even think about doing chinchin because the amount you would spend for chinchin I'd better to use that money for something more important, these era our aunties and uncles are they one even expecting us to give them something as a happy Christmas and I mean it isn't bad if you gift them but the change is glaring, now anybody who does chinchin hides it in their houses for the fear of others finishing it for them, now we don't even prepare for Christmas we only wait until two or one day before Christmas to buy what we can afford to celebrate with, now playing knockout leads to the fear of bandits.

I can't actually say which age I prefer to relive in but I can't deny the fact that those days were much better than what we are living in, infact as a kid we travel home for Christmas at some occasions if not most occasions but because of how everything has gone sour right from safety to financial incapacity to other factors we haven't travelled to the village for a very long while and I have missed that, It was a beautiful experience and I am so tempted to side it on this contest so I am wholly going for it.
