The Heart Of Christmas, The Language Of Love>> Hive-Reachout Weekly Prompt 78.
If I was asked what Christmas means to me a decade ago I would have told you that it means eating, drinking, watching of movies, resting, testing of different neighbors food, the buying of new things around the house, over excitement plus the get together we normally do in the church on 25th, all this things would have defined Christmas for me but being two decade plus has changed the narrative and you would love what my perspective is about Christmas.
You know how you celebrate yourself during your birthdays, you make it loud and make the whole day about you, that's how it should be while celebrating someone else's day and this someone isn't just anyone, well He can be just anyone to you base on your relationship with Him but to me He's not just anyone infact I call Him different names, my Best Friend, My Gist Partner, My Comforter, my Father, My Man, my Shepherd, my Helper, my Everything... Infact I can't keep counting.
When you want to celebrate someone this important, someone that has been present in your life from day one, you don't just celebrate them by buying your own self new clothes or cooking the best of meals that He wouldn't eat, Noo am not saying that eating, wearing of clothes is not good at such season but let's not center it all on that, I choose to use that day to reflect on where He brought me from, where I am now and where He's leading me to, I celebrate all the journey He has been through while on earth just for me and the love He poured out for a person like me.
I see that day as the beginning of my salvation like the place where it all started, imagine giving someone's birthday a tag "Christmas" that's the first and last I have heard someone naming His or Her birthday although He wasn't the one that named it, 25th of December feels like a reassurance of love and affection for many where they rekindle what ever existed or even spark up new flames, that day also gives a sure ticket of seeing your loved ones that you haven't seen in ages bringing them all together to bond.
Only the aroma and happiness coming from each house alone has separated it from being just a normal day, the right way to celebrate Christmas is just the way you feel it's right, no rules to abide with just intimacy with you and the celebrant, what I make sure to do is that love is in the air and spread everywhere, just showcase love because that's the celebrant language.
